Let's be honest. If SJSU is playing in the Pac 12 they are likely not ranked or playing in a bowl game.
So is the question that he will recruit like CU has for the last decade or like he himself did at SJSU?
Simply finding guys and developing them into better guys than most of the PAC12 is not enough?
I don't see what he sees with this kid. But HCMM's record trumps mine. Which is why I am typing and he is recruiting.
Lets be honest you POS. Sjsu barely lost to the furd and was a field goal away from beating the badgers in Madison. All with 2* talent.
not neccessarily. I think the post is appropriate on topic, just not in a recruits thread so I moved to to the Barzil recruiting thread.Fify

Sure, SJSU was at an all time high when he left. Let's not forget that they were on the verge of eliminating their football program before he got there though. And the previous year their 2 star talent lost 57-3 to Stanford, 27-17 to a bad UCLA team, and lost to a 2 and 10 team in Idaho at home. Don't think for a minute that SJSU wasn't at an all time high this year when he took this job. There is no way he will be able to sustain in the Pac 12 with 2 star reaches. Will he be able to go 8-4 or 7-5. I think so. I think he is a good coach. I think he will do well in non conference games and will beat the teams he is supposed to. I just don't think the recruits he is targeting right now are going to be helping us build the program back to compete with Stanford or Oregon.
Like I have said many times however if Dillon or Sefo are the real deal at QB we will get there sooner than people believe. All you need is an elite QB and you are instantly competitive in college.

So year 2 was a work in progress, while year 3 was close to the finished product. I'm not going to knock him for struggling in his first or second season, because rebuilding a program is difficult. But he deserves a lot of credit for what SJSU accomplished last year. Those were his players, and they were 2 star recruits.
Give Coach Mac some time. If he comes close to what he was able to do with SJSU, we'll be in the mix for 4 and 5 star players in 3-5 years if things go right for us (which still remains unlikely).
3-5 years? Dude, seriously? It takes one year of improvement. Go from 1-11 to 4-8 and be competitive in games we should and 4*'s will show interest.
So where exactly do you disagree?
4 wins is not going to impress anyone if we beat CSU, Fresno, Bum**** Arkansas, and Washington Stank. We need signature wins. Like when Hawk beat OU.

Wrong, Utah State was a fg away from beating Wiscy. That is why Gary Andersen was hired by Alvarez after Bielema left for Arky.Sjsu barely lost to the furd and was a field goal away from beating the badgers in Madison. All with 2* talent.

We don't need to "outrecruit" USC. We need to out-talent-develop them with our 3* kids.
I really, really doubt they care who we beat. Going from 1-11 and getting killed every game to 4-8 and being competitive will get them to notice. Also following your logic we should not sign any 4*'s for 3 years... we should have two right now.
