I think its a great symbol for the fans that would rather embarrass the program and spend money on powder blue shirts, than donate enough money to the program to have a practice facility that is on par with goat state. Yet, we deserve to have a winning team. I mean goat state invented the term apathetic fans, and we dont even keep up with them in facilities. That is pretty pathetic.
Now, Im not saying that money is the only problem we have; but how can we, and I include myself in this, say that we deserve better than this? Where do we get the right to put down this team by wearing powder blue, without first looking to ourselves as to why the program has to have some big donor come in before we can build a stupid bubble? We are not some community college in the midwest. People that graduate from CU are some of the most successful people in the world.
I appreciate the passion that has went into the powder blue deal, but I wish that energy was put toward a more positive goal than embarrassing the team for poor performance. Imagine if instead of paying $10 for a t-shirt, 50000 fans donated $10 to the AD. Thats a pretty good investment toward giving AD some options in handling the leadership of the football team, instead of being hamstrung by a budget.
No matter what is meant by wearing powder blue tomorrow, there are going to be a lot of people that dont understand what you are trying to say. Its sad to think that some of the kids on the field tomorrow will have to wonder if they are not in on the big joke. Black and Gold muther****ers.
