NCAA Tournament General Thread

Spent the evening at the Pepsi center and man oh man, Utah was bad tonight. The Zags just pummeled them. Arkansas Little Rock just did not have enough legs for tonights game with the Cyclones. They looked tired and could not match the intensity

What standard do you recommend? Why is our conference on the wrong side of so many of these? I'm not talking about one game.
Yes, in fact, you are talking about "one game", just a series of them. Don't recall you beyotching about the Pac when a Stanford team (one the Buffs beat a couple of times) ended up in the Sweet Sixteen or UCLA last year. Match-ups and hot streaks.....that's why they call it March Madness! Capice?
Its why Warren Buffett's billion dollar prize for a perfect bracket will never be claimed by a human.
You know anyone that had Mid.Tenn.St. over Izzo-led, "why aren't they a #1 seed?" favorite MSU? No, you don't, so stop whining.

So trends should be ignored at the end of the season on a neutral court. Gotcha.

At least we're not Michigan State. Talk about your overseeded team. And they fooled everyone. Clearly. We were an 8 who lost to a 9. Those games are supposed to be a flip of the coin. Supposed to be the most evenly matched teams in the entire tournament, and we lost within striking distance, led over half the game. Same with USC. Cal doesn't count due to injuries and off-court stuff. Utah at least won a game (but we knew they weren't that good; those were our two worst losses of the year in my opinion). The only real ***hole team in the PAC turned out to be Arizona, in the end.

We can argue about whether PAC 12 failure in the tournament means the conference is weak, but the national perception is the real concern. 7 teams seeded 8 or better and only 2 win the first round, only 1 left now to contend for a second round win. The perception is that too many P12 teams were in the tournament. Whether this carries over to next year's selection remains to be seen, but it's a risk. Better hope Oregon gets deep in the tournament to help counter the situation.

Should we schedule some one for twos with East Coast blue bloods?
Seems useful but they are popular with the scheduling crowd. It's helpful even if we lose because there will be constant checks on "quality opponents" and our doing well in P12 will be recognized.

i know we are all happy as clams that we aren't associated with Stillwater and Manhattan Kansas......and get to pretend big wig around with Stanford and UCLA types....but the Big XII is and has been a much better sports conference. Utah is winning games in Pac football and basketball.

And BCS bowl games before that...

Perhaps Tad can use this current prevailing sentiment that the P12 is weak as a sales point to get some of these remaining NCAA teams of substance to come to Boulder for a home and home for the OOC.

SFA is not intimidated by the pedigree of Notre Dame. If they can keep this up we will have this years Cinderella in the Sweet 16.

didn't like the last possession for SFA but they have nothing to be embarrassed about. Great game with the wrong ending.
