Official 2018 Fall Camp Thread

Something that hurt the team last year that we didn't talk about enough was the injury to Evans putting way too much on Lindsay. If he's truly 100% again, that's very important depth for the offense that we can trust out there.

Not sure if this has been posted somewhere else but who else is planning to be at the practice tomorrow?

Edit: See Nik’s Thread for this discussion

Abrams never saw a guy like Viska at Indy CC... that was embarrassing.

I saw the last season and there was a few times he made some really bad tackle attempts and got badly beaten. I wasn’t sure if it was just exaggerated as they only show scoring plays really or if he has that tendency to fall asleep.

That's what it looked like. He lined up to force an inside release. That's all well and good, but you can't allow a clean inside release that puts you so badly in trail that you're out of the play within 5 yards.
Of course. But that is a bad man lining up across from him.

Can you believe he was only a 3 Star? I was watching some of his high school film and I can’t believe he was just a 3 Star..
Similar to Mangham he was a 4 star and then got bumped down to 3. Buffnik and others have discussed the fine line between highly rated 3 stars and 4, not much of a difference.

Winfree mentions all of the position groups not taking a step back, which would be amazing! Looking at each group compared to last year:

QB: improved with Montez in his 4th year and Lytle really stepping up.
RB: step back with loss of Lindsay from production and leadership. Hopefully addition of McTravon and a healthy Evans makes up for loss.
WR: questionable step up, tons of talent and solid senior group to lead the young boyz. Big 3 to replace from last year though.
TE: step up, Bounds showed last year plus the addition of Jones and a Healthy Pop should make this group improved
OL: step up....Moretti and Lynot are Healthy! Haigler and Kaiser are leaders. Could be a real solid core.

DL: Step up, growth in weight room and maturity, plus some great '18 recruits filling holes. Can't be as bad as last year.
LB: Step up, Gamboa and Lewis are seniors, Callier, Landman, Wells are growing, plus a good class of jucos.
CB: step back, losing Oliver hurts.
S: step up, best Defensive group with Fisher Worthington and Taylor.

Did not know that they bumped him down but definitely true, not much difference

Then why do we keep bitching about all the 3-star commits and complain that this staff can't recruit?o_O

Because there’s not much difference between an 88/89 3* and a 90 rated 4*

But there’s a big difference between a 88 rated 3* star and a 80 rated 3*
