Official Buffs Dance Resume Thread

75-70 Auburn did it!

Hell yeah! Jumped up to 90 in RPI, so now a Top 100 road win again. Big for us.

Hampton has really come on lately.

Just closed out a 17 point conference road win to go to 9-7. If they continue to dominate the MEAC, very possible that this become a Top 150 win for the Buff against a team in the Dance field.

Portland beat BYU.

BYU fell from 56 to 65. Portland moved from 273 to 260.

Not the result we wanted, but not a bad result if Portland uses this as a springboard to get its **** together.

Washington wins in Tempe. Huskies improve to 12-5 (4-1), Sun Devils fall to 11-7 (1-4). UW has played its way into the bubble discussion with this solid start to Pac play. ASU is headed the opposite direction. At just 1-4 with the Bay Area road swing coming up it looks like ASU's window is closing unless they get some W's soon.

Northern Colorado got the win.

Next 2 games are against the bottom 2 teams in the conference, so they could be making a little push here over the next week.

Dare we dream of cracking the top 25?

The RPI top 325, that is.

A man can dream.

It's never going to be a quality win on the resume. But a UNCo win over Southern Utah goes into CU's RPI math the same way a BYU win over St. Mary's would. It all counts the same with opponent record vs D1 opponents.

The one that annoys me today is BYU/Portland. I know we played both, but BYU was right near 50 and thus so close to being a much needed quality OOC win. It's going to be hard to make that ground back up in the WCC

Absolutely. Pisses me off 2 ways. BYU being young & inconsistent, dropping games it shouldn't. And Portland every once in a while showing what they're capable of and would have done if they had any chemistry, coaching or defense.

Penn State still in the lead at Northwestern. 50-36, 9:00 min remaining. A PSU win would jump them up about 30 spots..

Nicholls so damn close. Down by 17 at halftime at a good Texas A&M Corpus team. Ended up losing by 5. That team is better than its 5-13 record.

Penn State wins at previously 15-3 Northwestern. As a result, PSU's RPI is going to go all the way up to 79 from 107. Today turned out well with Auburn beating Kentucky and Penn State winning at Northwestern. This was the type of day that could have been a disaster. Instead, we held steady with our RPI at 31 and PSU and Auburn now firmly inside the top 100. We can make a big time jump tomorrow if we beat Oregon. Ducks are sitting with an RPI of 6(!).

Sunday:

Buffs 13-4 (2-2) vs Oregon 14-3 (3-1): Another huge Pac12 game at the Keg. This is a win CU would surely need if the Buffs are to make a real push for a top 4 spot. After starting off Pac12 play with an uninspiring loss at Oregon State, the Ducks have reeled off 3 wins in a row. As a result, the Ducks are now just a half game out of first place. They were last seen dominating Utah in a 77-59 win in SLC. The Ducks were in control from start to finish in what was their strongest performance of the season. In true road games, Oregon is just 1-2. Oregon enters with a highly impressive RPI of 7, while CU's sits at 31. Live RPI gives CU a 55% chance of victory, however, Vegas has the Ducks favored by 1.5

#10 SMU 16-0 (5-0) @ Tulane 8-10 (1-4): Another conference cupcake for SMU to feast on. However, after this SMU hits a difficult stretch (by AAC standards) of Houston, @ Temple, Memphis, @ Houston. Mustangs are favored by 14 in this one, though I suppose there's always the risk of being caught looking ahead.

Oregon State 11-4 (2-2) @ Utah 12-5 (1-3): It looked like Utah might have been back on track after their last second win in Boulder, but then they turned around and got their ass kicked by Oregon in SLC. Now the Utes are just 1-3 and back to near desperation mode. A loss in this one and it starts to look like Utah is headed right for the bubble. Oregon State, meanwhile, is capable but inconsistent. We saw first hand what Payton is capable of with his 26 and 15 performance in Boulder. OSU needs others to step up. When they do, you see the Beavs beating up on Oregon and posting a nice win over Cal. When they don't, you see the home loss to Stanford and the 17 point loss in Boulder. Utes are favored by 8.5
