Was there something I missed that makes you all think that Gilbert penalty was wrong? I am in a bar in SoCal, and can't hear a damn thing.
By rule, he should be ejected. BUT, the rule is crap for situations like that. There is no way a defensive player can control where the helmet goes on a situation like that. Also, if that was the beginning of a slide, the refs need to start blowing the whistle when they perceive the slide is coming, not when it is complete. If you expect defenders to stop when the QB looks like they are beginning a slide, the refs need to blow the whistle that fast too.
 
He did hit him in the head, but how do you lay off that tackle?

You HAVE to keep your eyes on the target. That was targetting. We'd say the same if they hit Sefo like that. Gilbert ****ed up.
