I also do not care about rankings.
What about stars? Do you care about them??

Best class on paper in a long time. Size, length and speed. The only concern is the db class, thought it would be better considering our secondary last year.

But with all the turnover with coaches, keeping miller was huge.

Rankings? It's a good look to be in the top twenty but after today, it's all about spring ball and looking forward to another good year from the buffs.

Stars and class rank are a way to keep score and to get a little pub for the program.

Also a decent guide (and the only one we have) to suggest the relative talent of teams.

Even though ranks aren't perfect and neither class attrition nor transfers in update the ranks (it's a snapshot)... it's still pretty well correlated to how good a team is. If you look at average ranks of classes over 3 or 4 years, it usually comes pretty close to predicting where a team will be within its conference or nationally the upcoming season.

Obviously, there are outliers. CU became an outlier in a good way in 2016. I'd rather not count on being an outlier to that extent, so I like seeing CU classes in the Top 30.

Man I had forgotten how much fun Signing Day is. The first time in a decade it felt like Christmas came really early. I'm always excited when any recruit signs with the Buffs, but this year has been extra special. After two months of reading nothing but negatives from posters on the board, it's so nice to see the positivity again. ****in A, Go Buffs!

Don't see a lot of superstars (a few could turn into that) but a lot of guys who should be very solid multi-year starters for a conference contending team.

This team won 10 games last year. This class makes us stronger on the lines and faster with the ball. Like it.

H/t to CapitalBuff on Scout for the research done here on CU commits and the number of P5 offers through the last 4 recruiting classes...

2014 - 24 recruits, 10 P5 offers, an average of 0.42 P5 offers per recruit
2015 - 19 recruits, 15 P5 offers, 0.79 average
2016 - 19 recruits, 49 P5 offers, 2.58 average
2017 (so far) - 27 recruits, 122 P5 offers, 4.52 average

I haven't had the chance to watch this closely, but what a great day it has been. Congrats to the coaching staff and to the new players and thank you to all of you that work so hard so the rest of us can click refresh and just enjoy the moment.

Worth noting that included in the offers for some of our recruits this year were:

Alabama, USC, Oregon, Texas, Notre Dame, and a number of other traditional recruiting "powers." We got a bunch of guys who other quality P5 schools wanted.

Couple years ago we were happy to beat Utah and Wazzou.

It's more insane that the kid will accept a GS to play for Bama.

Didnt Tom Osborne make a living winning recruits as walk ons while they had scholie offers from other schools? Some kids just want to go where the best talent is. I wonder how many ever see the field at Bama as a grey shirt.

Not sure, but I'm sure other programs have done the research on it in an attempt to recruit against them. I'm sure people have even crunched the numbers on guys who were offered as a normal recruit and the chances they ever see the field as a starter.
