Do we think Wake Forest (NET 39) was a lock?
If there was any question, losing to Boston College (160) on a neutral court isn't the last impression you want to give.

This Xavier-Butler game is crazy. Paul Scruggs has simultaneously won and lost this game for Xavier like 4 times in the last minute. Hit's a crazy turn around with the shot clock expiring to make them up 5 with a minute and a half remaining. Then fouls a guard trying to get the inbound for two free throws for Butler. Then hits a crazy and 1 lay up. The fouls a 90% free throw shooter with 6 seconds remaining and Xavier up 2 thinking Xavier was up 3. Game going to OT.

Fouled him on an extremely I'll advised strip attempt too.

Xavier at 18-13 is not a tourney team.

NET 36 entering today. Butler 128 with an 11-18 record vs D1 opponents.

The only thing that could give us an outside **** at an at large would be winning a couple games in the tourney, and the committee looks at a hot CU team and favors then over a bunch of lukewarm to slumping teams with higher NET.

3 teams on the borderline in the ACC with Wake losing. They put up Lunardi's board and ND is listed as last 4 bye's, Wake is last 4 in and VT is first 4 out. If VT wins this game they will get ND tomorrow night and VT is almost certainly out if they lose to ND tomorrow (assuming they hang on to beat Clemson).

Duke and UNC are the only 2 sure bets at this point, if Miami loses to BC tomorrow they could be in trouble.

West Virginia up 8 decides to make things interesting and foul Kansas States best player and 5 free throws and a transition 3 later this is all tied up.

Rider beat Iona. Iona was the 1-seed, so they'll get the auto-bid to the NIT.

Pretty sure we want Wazzu over Cal since we played them twice. Better for our anemic SOS.

Crazy how easily people can pass us. 16-15 Vanderbilt who beat 6-26 Georgia moved from 79 to 71 in NET. Kansas Sate and Fresno State did move behind us.

That is very odd how their NET moved up 8 spots after beating a bad UGA team. Actually I'm surprised their NET is even in the 70's but my guess is that's a factor of how many Quad I games they've played even though they have only gone 2-10 in those games. Another example is St. John's at 67 NET with a 17-14 record but they are also 2-10 in quad I games.

TCU drops Texas. Two reasons to talk about that here. One-**** Texas. Two-TCU winning the Big 12 tourney could knock somebody like a Wyoming (who Lunardi has in his last four in as of this morning) into the NIT, which could move us down.

Wyoming held off UNLV. Switched to Baylor-Oklahoma now that we're done. Probably need Baylor to win here. One of the bracket nerds (Lunardi IIRC) had OU last four in or first four out.
