Do you believe the Buffs can reach their 10 win goal if everything goes right with injuries, luck and the ball bouncing their way?
I would say that if we get some momentum after a 4-0 start (which I think is very possible)and go into Texas and not get demolished and come back the next week and rail KU, then that 10th win could be a bowl game.
Can we win 10 games? Sure, but will we is the question? I say no, I'm thinking 8 or 9 wins at this point.
Actually, the question is "can we" not "will we".
Sure we can.

If everything goes right and the ball bounces their way, the best they can do is 8 wins. I'd be more confident if either line was returning the majority of starters from the previous season. 10 wins is what you strive for, but totally out of the question this season.

:lol:What this team needs is an entire season of training table and S&C work. **** playing any games, since winning them is apparently impossible.

Apparently missing that bowl game was not quite the bold strategy we needed, huh?
No it did.....give guys time to get healthy and rest.
The problem is that there is a lack of talent on the defensive line.
The offensive line is not set and therefore a question mark
Quarterback confidence is unknown
Wide receivers that have the ability to seperate or make plays in traffic are dropping like flies.

if you group the games by difficulty, from toughest to least tough:
tier 1:
ut
osu
tier 2:
mizzery
wvu
tier 3:
atm
fuskers
ku
csu
tier 4:
kjuco st
isu
toledo
wyo
i see 4 MUST WINS and 4 SHOULD WINS. if you pull all those off (which is asking for a big improvement over the first 3 years of the hawk era), then manage 2 of the remaining 4, you've got your 10 wins. improbable? maybe. but, certainly not impossible.
I'm not sure it's out of the question. They have a pretty favorable schedule. I really see 2 no hopers on the schedule UT and OSU.
You think it might have helped guys like Givens having that extra practice time? You think it might have helped selling the whole "bowl team" concept on the recruiting trail might have helped land a couple more big-time recruits we could use this year?
The problem with the defensive line is not a lack of talent, it is a lack of experience. You think guys like Goree, Cunningham, and Obi (guys we need to step up this year) couldn't have used that little extra practice time?
The argument that this program is better off because we missed a bowl in 2008 is still completely stupid.
Firstly, it's lower tiered bowls that I believe are a waste of time. Like I said all of last year, Alamo and up and you're all good. Otherwise stay home and chill.
No and obviously seeing the conniptions that you're having over simmons shows how difficult it is to get guys to come to CU with or without the bowl game since they have to go after questionable guys for talent.
And the problem on the D line is a lack of talent. And those extra 15 wouldn't have helped either.
And that's fine you feel that way, but bowl games are mainly a business tool for a lot of entities other than the team and for the coach to have something on his resume that says..."I accomplished this (even if it's the Hershey Kiss Bowl)."
It's a favorable schedule if you're Ole Miss or Penn State.
For CU it's just a schedule that finally isn't brutal but still has some decent opponents nonetheless.
