Quarterback recruiting

My guess is nobody goes anywhere this year. I think every one of the QBs probably wants as much time as they can get with the new QB coach. After the fall if Noyer feels he will stay a backup and has progressed because of the coach (and has graduated), then who knows what happens. Still think they all want spring and fall with that coach though.

ANother thing to point out is noyer is the only qb on the roster that is truly Lindgren’s guy. Jeffcoat randomly found Montez when Lindgren failed to land his main targets, lytle was mainly a chev guy from his so cal connections and Stenstrom was on chevs kid’s team.

If you're saying Noyer could Beav-it if he doesn't play much this year, sure. BL is OC fur the rodents, just over an hour's swim from Noyer's home dam: Beaverton.

I won't be terribly surprised if he gets more playing time this year, if Montez can't get his poop in a group. Kid has potential.

Not sure where to put this, I saw this list half completed on the thread for Tyler Hilinski discussing Pac 12 QB recruits that year. I went to rivals and finished the rest of the list. Interesting to look back at QBs in the Pac12 that were part of the class of 2015.

UA - None
ASU - Brady White 4*, Bryce Perkins 3*
Cal - Ross Bowers 3*
Colorado - Steven Montez 3*
OU - Travis Waller 4*
OSU - Seth Collins 2*
Stan - None
UCLA - Josh Rosen 5*
USC - Ricky Town 4*, Sam Darnold 4*
Utah - None
UW - Jake Browning 4*
WSU - Tyler Hilinski 4*

Rosen and Darnold draft bound

Browning, Bowers and Montez returning starters

White just transfered to Memphis

Perkins transfered previously to JUCO and is now headed to UVa

Jonsen (formerly Waller) transfered to Riverside City College

Ricky Town left USC after 2 weeks of camp, went to Arkansas, went to Ventura City College and is now headed to Pitt

And last year we had speculation that Noyer would pass Montez and be the starter.

I do believe that sooner or later Noyer will be the odd man out but that still is to be determined on the field. It is also worth remembering that best laid plans are only one hit to the knee away from completely changing.
Wait! Wut?

I think at one point there were echoing opinions lamenting the loss of Stevie Joe Dorman.

I’m hoping Montez has such a good season he declares for the NFL. Not that I want to see him go, but that would mean we had a great season and maybe get to keep all our roster.
