when he says he wants to win?
IMO, any credibility Bohn had went out the window when Hawk was retained. If it was really forced on Bohn, he should resign and look for a job at a school that wants to win.
If it was his call, he should be fired.
To be fair, he is saying pretty much what he has to say. Should he be honest and say, " I wanted to fire this worthless SOB, but because of political winds out of my control I'm stuck with him for another year."?
Well, his job does, at some point, depend on it, doesn't it?when he says he wants to win?

That is precisely what a resignation would say to the rest of the world. If I'm looking to hire an AD, MB dropped to the bottom of the list this past week. He could rehab himself by resigning and the way things went down would be clear.
Right now he looks like a yes man. A yes man with a contract that expires in 5 months and an admin that treats him like a lackey apparently.
If I were advising MB, I'd tell him to resign and let the talking heads that ordered up the this cluster handle it...
A lot of people are quick to be yes-men if the job depends on it. While your scenario sounds noble, most professionals place a priority on career ascension, and going rogue as you suggest can derail one permanently.
(As far as we know) The guy is doing what he can short of quitting, hard to fault him imo.
Lefty, CU is Mike's dream job. He is a Boulder native (GO PANTHERS!), with his extended family in or near Boulder/Denver. Even though he played ball at KSU, he is a Buff.
Basically, he's going to put up with more than the usual amount of crap that bosses (DiStephano, Benson, Regents) throw at their workers.
What does Bohn make? $400k? Those type of gigs don't grow on trees. An idealist might be able to quit on principle here, but a pragmatist wouldn't.
There is too much information that we DONT know to judge Bohn.
That's never stopped us before.

I'll admit I don't know the whole story, but if the admin cut MB off at the knees, IMO, he should resign and go somewhere else. How can he run the AD if his boss is going to micromanage him? What kind of vote on his job performance is it to overrule him and not extend his contract? Again, I don't know if that is how it went down, but MB ought to sack up here IMO.
I've met MB in passing, and he seems like a good joe, and he does the fundraising gig pretty well. I just find this decision from an athletic perspective indefensibile. Hawk's results on the field are ABYSMAL.
That's never stopped us before.
Here's a crazy idea...what if we actually win next year and keeping Hawk turns out to be the right move??? Should Bohn resign anyway? Bohn has been a tireless advocate for the program and the school. The job isn't easy, and he's done it better than most would. Bohn is not the problem IMO, and I think we need to let this decision play out before calling for his head too.
