I am dumbfounded that he could get fired - what was that about again?
"Tuberville averaged 8.5 wins in his 10 seasons, taking Auburn to eight consecutive bowls."
Great hire for Tech........

At Auburn it is not about wins and bowl games, it is about winning more than Bama, getting better bowls than Bama, and most importantly beating Bama.
TT did very well by all measures except these three and thus was fired.
Uh... what? He was 7-3 against Alabama during his career at Auburn, including a 6-game winning streak at one point. Auburn also consistently made better bowl games and finished higher than Bama in the SEC West during his time there.
Tuberville was fired at Auburn because he never got along with the very top boosters. Simple as that.
You are correct, but he tailed off near the end and to hear it from the Auburn boosters at the time his success was ancient history. They wanted to beat Bama every year. The fact that he pissed off some VIP boosters didn't help
TT will have a much harder time recruiting, Lubbock is a dusty, desolate, barren, hell hole.Hmmm. Not sure that is going to work out there.

Miles and miles from any major metro areas. He's a good coach, but this is a very strange
area. A jack rabbit needs to carry a canteen to survive in that country.
Some fans on this board overrate campus environment as a recruiting factor. For a lot of these kids, it is about football and football only.
Anyway, TT on ESPN First Take this morning says he is going to continue running the offense they already have. How are they going to do that with Leach gone?

it makes some sense since that's the personnel they've got; but, Tuberville's last experiment with the spread failed miserably.
ummm. hes already talking about "tweaking" the offense and adding more running. That offense requires complete commitment. Once he starts mixing in other concepts it will soon fall apart. Plus, I highly doubt he and his OC will turn below average QBs into record breakers.
