Seeing some “Fire Dan Lanning” comments. They aren’t going to do it but Lanning being the next James Franklin is highly possible. Great coach and recruiter who couldn’t quite get them over the top and neither school are going to do better than them.
Maybe a few clicks at Oregon’s expense…

The guy can flat out coach/evaluate/recruit. Mario Cristobal seems to be that too. Lanning is a solid coach. But he got out talented in this game.
I shut off the Oregon/Texas Tech game, but did I hear correctly that Oregon scored a TD in the final seconds to run up the score?

Not in any way putting down Indiana's talent they are clearly very good.
This game wasn't won though based on talent, it was won based on coaching, composure, discipline. Oregon got beaten by the moment, the had turnovers, bad snaps, missed assignments, blown coverages, missed blocks and tackles. They had all of the stuff that Indiana didn't in the biggest moment of their football careers to this point.
If a team is going to beat Indiana they have to beat Indiana because Indiana isn't going to beat themselves.
Lanning meanwhile keeps getting close but not close enough, at some point they have to ask if he is capable of finishing the job.
