I am interested in the Florida angle as well. Lot of solid talent there that the big boys don't even recruit.
Baer?
Here's what could get very interesting.
Might MacIntyre be thinking that he can put Leavitt and Tumpkin on Florida recruiting since both have done that in the past?
If so, that would give us:
2 in Florida (Leavitt, Tumpkin)
3 in Texas (Walters, Jeffcoat, Neinas)
3 in California (Adams, Clark, Lindgren)
1 in Arizona (Bernardi)
9 in Colorado (Neinas in lead, but everyone with areas of responsibility)
Also - Adams with Samoa, Hawai'i, Pac Northwest, Utah & mainland Poly recruiting. Walters giving an assist wherever needed, especially CA. Bernardi also doing some work in Nevada & California. Lindgren traveling wherever to find his quarterback. Clark being the "wildcard" guy if MacIntyre needs someone to go to Tennessee, Georgia or wherever.
Think he's at the hotel bar?I think Nik means "Bernardi", not "Baer". At least I hope so.

Why assume Tumpkin goes to FLA? He coached at SMU and Houston in the recent past and must have some Tx connections that could work, as well as some connections in the midwest and PA. Then move Neinas over to help Adams with the Poly recruiting. Walters could slide over to FLA and help in the Midwest
I think you take advantage of what you have, but not at the expense of over-extending yourself.
It seems that Cali, Tejass, Colorado, AZ are the primary sources with a few others as secondary (the islands, Utah, WA, etc). Maybe one coach could work Fla, but more than that or committing a lot of time there just doesn't seem justified.
It might also be beneficial to explore Tumkins' connections in the Midwest, but again, I don't think it should be a primary target area.
I'm sure we'll take a stab at recruiting Florida. But I don't think throwing a lot of energy into it would be the best use of our effort no matter how well known Leavitt and Tumpkin are down their.
I wouldn't underestimate FL. JL has an awesome reputation down there and you can throw a rock and hit an unbelievable athlete.
Iowa St used to recruit FL well under DM, guys like the Davis brothers, etc. If guys would go play in freaking Ames I have to believe we could grab a couple a year.
