Cyler is going to be a good player. Not that concerned about his throwing motion, as long he gets it there. I like the fact that he is comfortable under center and he will thrive at CU if he comes to CU. But after saying that, i believe the best School for him would be Vanderbilt. Washington is the wrong choice.
 
I agree with MtnBuff - I'd be very surprised if he takes real live snaps at QB. He is a great athlete, and has potential at a few other positions.I honestly don't believe that Miles went to UW to play QB. Is that his preference - sure. However, he just wants to get out of the state, and best of luck to him in his endeavor. Sometimes, kids due to a variety of reasons need to experience life away from home, and I hope Miles' experience makes him a better person.He is not going to come to CU.

Nothing here I can argue with. I am not saying in any way that Cyler can't play QB, only that with the situation at UW he won't play it there. If QB is what he really wants to play there are plenty of other schools that would be glad to have him and willing to give him every opportunity to play the position.
 
I watched most of the game and came away far more impressed with Bear Creek QB than Miles.

Coach Sark and Coach Nuss = one of the best QB coaching duos in the country. Recruits know this and they know playing at Udub will make them better quarterbacks.

We know why you're getting good QB recruits. Most of us think your other QB in this class is better than Miles.
 
Im sure Miles will be a good player, never said he wouldnt be. Watching him last night, I thought he threw better out of the gun than under center jmho. Also made more athletic plays out of the gun, draws and what not. I think Dillon is gonna fit what we do going forward better. Again, jmo. Thats for bigbang btw, hit the wrong button.
 
I hope Miles ends up at UW, but you never know until signing day.

When Keith Price (current QB1 @UW) first came to UW 3 years ago, his mechanics were completely off. He couldn't throw a spiral without the nose of the ball pointing down. And now in his first season he has looked brilliant (keep it up Teeth!). In fact, he has the best 5 first starts of any UW QB is history. Ahead of Warren Moon, Mark Brunell, the Huards... everyone. That is all on the coaching...

I wouldn't put too much stock into any high school PSA's throwing motion. The job of the college coaches is to develop them, and it's also good to spend a couple years on the bench.

I personally expected Nick Montana to beat out Price, but Price simply did better (and had an extra year in the system). I think it's hard to project who the better college QB will be between Lindquist and Miles, but I would expect (if they sign) that they will both be given an equal opportunity to compete at QB. If the coaches recruit them at QB they will be given every possible opportunity to stay there.

I can't help but think none of you would be questioning his ability if Miles had committed to the Buffs. I also don't agree that Keith Price's good start is "all coaching." Coaching helps, but he was good to begin with. The Washington coaches can't turn just anyone into a good D-1 QB.

You would be incorrect too. Im not really questioning his ability just saying I like Dillon a little more for our O.

Agree with Luke, I would be happy if Miles decided he wanted to be a Buff. I think Dillon is better for CU and between the two prefer Dillon but if Cyler wanted to come I would welcome him.

All I am saying is that with the glut of QBs that UW is going to have somebody is going to be stuck at the bottom. Cyler is both the guy from the least important recruiting area for UW and more importantly the best overall athlete of the bunch so I find it highly unlikely that he stays at QB for UW.

There are plenty of other schools that would be very happy to have him at QB and where he might be very successful. For these reasons I think UW is a poor choice for him.

Before he committed to Cal and he was a top target, Buff fans were pretty rough in their evaluations of 4* Austin Hinder from Steamboat Springs a couple years ago.

Similarly, Adonis Ameen-Moore at RB went from a guy everyone loved as a sophomore to someone most Buff fans didn't want as a senior.
 
Not sure Florida would be a good choice given they have some talented Fr at QB, but at least it'd be a Colorado kid in the SEC.

All in all, we're primed for a good week of preparation, and ultimately playing a nice ball game on Saturday. In regards to Colorado, it's been pretty fascinating watching them. Got a chance to watch some TV copies of some of their games, and to me they are eerily similar to who we were a couple years ago. I think they have talent on their football team, I think they are well-coached, I think they play hard and they are trying to find a way to get over the hump and to win some of these tight ball games. You look at the Cal loss in overtime, you look at the loss to Washington State late in the game, and so...they are trying to find a way to win. But I will say I've been impressed with the way they play and the style in which they play. Coach (Jon) Embree's done a really nice job of instilling the type of team that he wants, and it's just a battle. But very similar to who we were two years ago and very impressed with the way they're approaching week-to-week and how they play.

On how Colorado is similar to UW in 2009: "What we went through, you're changing the culture. You've got a mixture of guys from an older staff that moved on to your influx of young players. I think they've played already 13 freshmen this year. So you are trying to bring the team together and play with a mindset and the beliefs you have as a coach. A lot of young guys running around making some plays, making some mistakes, very similar.''

I watched the Columbine Mullen game last night and was very underwhelmed with Miles performance. However, I don't think his coaches put him in very good positions either.
