'14 TX ILB Grant Watanabe (Signed to COLORADO)

Just one of those kids that every football coach in CFB looked at the tape and wanted him, and then saw his height and backed off.
If he can get the foot right, he'll be a big time player for us.
 
Lisfranc injury is a big deal to overcome. Just getting him at our practices and on our nutrition and conditioning program will be the first victory. Once he is cleared for full contact, we've got our player.
 
Thanks, Flounder. He looks to be working out hard. Might be ideal to have him workout and get completely healthy during spring ball, then he can start practicing in the fall of '15. Hopefully he is a quick healer!
 
Just hoping he can be a solid ST player in 2015. Anything more than that is probably asking too much.

As much as I want to see him out there playing as soon as is possible it is more important that he is fully recovered to reduce the chance of re-injury.

Feet are sensitive and fragile. If not healed correctly he could have ongoing problems that could make a mess out of his career.
 
Anyone know about his little brother/cousin. Saw a picture of them together and the other kid is a lot bigger!?!?!?
 
Evan White didn't redshirt because of special teams this year and he's leading the team in ST points.

He has ended up playing a lot on defense due to injury, but the decision on him was based on ST. It was a good move.
 
We're not in a position to be playing for the future next year. If he can contribute on ST then get him out there.
 
Seems like the foot is a legitimate concern. Definitely not banking on him to contribute in the future

Super Excited about Watanabe. I expect that he will play this fall and look forward to him laying the wood on some fools.
 
Adam (Rivals) with a free interview with Watanabe here. Another good looking Frosh. He had a big time tackle in the USC game that I watched about 10 times in slo-mo for the pure aesthetics of it.
 
Leavitt has to be familiar with all 8 Kansas jucos that sponsor football, right? Surely some of them have decent, mature linebackers we could sign. Since AllBuffs is innately familiar with 1 of the 8 we could even help him out.
