Colorado @ Stanford GameDay thread

@dply

You are right.

The scoreline should be 19-3

Coach Mac should have an open tryout on Monday for a kicker from the kids on campus. We have a major problem.

I hope Stanford had a bunch of recruits there today. The will be totally unimpressed.

You know, it was odd that I never felt like we were going to lose that game. Strange feeling.

Their play is beginning to help me recover from abused fan syndrome.

Damn, bowl eligible in 8 games. Now it's how nice of a bowl do we go to. The more wins, the better the bling.

Sell out vs fUCLA? I'd bet on it how.

Go Buffs!!!!

Because of years of it happening, you could just feel the heart beginning to break due to yet another win slipping away. But this team is different. They aren't the same Buffs engrained into our psyche.

Very different. After all those tough losses the past few years they now have 2 wins in the closing minutes this year.

Like GB just said, "We're as good as every team we are going to play." Says coaches have to coach almost as if this were a loss.

Woooooo Hoooo! On the train home drinking a celebratory beer. Singing the fight song with the team after the game was fun.

We're going bowling!!!! Could it be the rose?
Which one were you? Burrito and I agreed that you were probably the shirtless "B".

We didn't just have to beat a physical team, especially on defense. But we had a whole lot of psychological **** to overcome as well. So yes, as ugly as this was, and as disappointing as it was to miss all those opportunities inside the 5...this was a fantastic win.

Well ... SOME of us did. :p

Seriously though ... yes, I admit it looked to me a lot like the old Buffs there for awhile. But the almost immediate negativity on the game threads at the first signs of adversity drives me nuts ... and tend to make me want to avoid them. Same with the Broncos game threads.

I know it's a fan board and immediate reactions, positive or negative, are expected and are part of the experience. I just wish we could save the real negativity for the post-mortems after the game. Not that I expect that to happen.

I hope you weren't on the flight sked today.

I wasnt shirtless but I'm glad you guys were thinking of me.

One weird thing that happened during the game was that about half of Stanfords band came over and was playing with the buffs band during the 3rd quarter. Anyone know what was up with that?

It looked like there was a very solid group of CU fans in the stands today. The band was loud, the fans likewise. Way to represent!

Well, I do know anybody can lose. I thought when they got to the 5, damnit, here we go again. We got a break and capitalized. That's what winning teams do. Give them an inch, they take a mile. We've been on the other side of that since my son was 2. He's freaking 13 now. It's cool to see we have a real team, they got each other's back. That's where it starts. End of the day, you have to learn how to win. These guys might have taken a big step with that today. My guess would be yes they did.

My kid said the Stanford fans were "****." More like low life locals than alums.
