The all in one "Lets talk Nebraska thread"

As many posts as I have merged to this thread I could have made NU it's own forum on the site.....

I thought Charlie McBride would have been a great hire for CU when Neuhisel left. I was always curious as to why he never got a shot at a HC job.

Last I heard about him he was living the good life in Arizona. I guess that's where old coaches go to retire.

Latest rumor - Bill Cowher

Latest rumor - Bill Cowher

Bill Cowher will be the most coveted coaching candidate in the nation this year and will have his pick of every professional opening that comes up. I really don't think he's going to want to choose that godforsaken hellhole as his next residence.

He moved down to North Carolina with his family. If John Fox doesn't have a big year in Carolina this year, I think they'll be all over him. If not there, I'd predict someplace else in that part of the country. GT, maybe?

Allright, who messed withe the NU thread...

now i can't find CSUHuskers response to my post that NU can't contact an head coach employed till the regular season is over.

Re: Allright, who messed withe the NU thread...

Re: The New AD at NU is _______

But who's stupid/desperate enough to take his place?

Marty Schottenheimer. After all that time in KC, he might just be able to handle spending some time in Lincoln.

Two words; Dick Tharp.

We should have done it just to get the guy off their sideline.

Does he look worn out and confused?

oh my god, you should've heard the press conference. He sounds terrible. I think all the criticism and everything is wearing him down. I feel bad for him. I think he sees the writing on the wall. I just feel bad for the guy as a person. It's like he's out on an island all by himself. he's still being nothing but pure class through it all. I have to imagine that these past few weeks and especially past few days have been very difficult and turbulent for him and I just wish him all the best trying to get through them.

My heart is really breaking for Coach Callahan right now.

he's a guy I really want to like a lot. He's pretty much a great guy. Good Catholic man, has his kids at Pius, and does a lot of charity work along with his wife in the community, and I really like the way he goes about coaching the team. I just don't know if his schemes will work in college.

I know one thing, his failure has certainly not been from a lack of effort. Nobody in these 93 counties puts in longer hours and works harder than Callahan. The guy is flat out dedicated and straight up meticulous. Maybe too much so. I feel really bad that it all has to go down this way. It's like he hasn't got a friend in the world here right now.

Poor Bill. I really hope NU wins this weekend just so the guy has something go his way if nothing else.

Oh who cares, he was getting a million plus a year and when he gets the axe he'll get a nice little paycheck. I don't feel sorry for him...I envy him
