Falo, Umu & Julmisse.

The bunker mentality at the CU AD is beyond ridiculous.
The SID likes to lay low, if that is possible.

I guess that's a good point, as it applies to Julmisse at least, who may have higher hurdles.
Is there really anything being whispered on these two. With the class we just signed, it would seem Umu would be highly coveted still, although when I see how negative Duff has been, it makes me wonder if there's more to the story. We definitely thought he was competing for a starting spot, or at worse, significant PT, before the suspension.

There is more to the Umu story Buffaholic...it is basically that this CU team is a giant wet noodle with no spine at all and that Umu is a walking talking anger management cliche...to the point that he will hold a grudge longer and escalate quicker than anyone I've heard of (that isn't in jail).....plus he just doesn't have the ability to differentiate the good guy from the bad guy...he just gets angry and goes off. The teams general character and Umu couldn't be more opposite and Umu crossed every line one can think of. He is lucky there wasn't a civil case brought against him. That being said, CU needs Umu's attitude in the worst of ways and Umu needs to be around players that are calmer so he doesn't find himself in jail later in life.

Bottom line for me is that all three of these players, if they've learned their lessons, are players that make a major difference for CU. Falo adds depth and experience at a position with almost no depth and extremely limited experience. Umu adds depth and attitude and during a game every other defender around him would feed on his nasty disposition...and Julmisse is far and away the most purely physically gifted corner CU could put on the field next year (He just hasn't ever really focused, ever in his life, if he learns how to...oh my the potential is unreal).

Course, if these guys haven't learned anything from what has happened then I don't want them anywhere near campus, let alone the football field.

@CitizenKane - I hope the things you wrote re: Umu are facts and not third hand bull**** because I hate it when this stuff becomes internet lore and then turns out to not be 100% accurate. On the other hand, I hope his problems are not that bad.

As far as I'm concerned, Julmisse can hit the road. People like him and Tumpkin do not deserve to represent CU. Domestic violence is a very serious issue and I would not like to see people like that on campus. Regardless of his talent level, Julmisse "dragged his girlfriend to the stairs and attempted to push her down them after she confronted him about his other girlfriend." I don't care about what positive impact he brings to the team, we should not allow cheating, woman beaters anywhere near campus, much less on SCHOLARSHIP. I couldn't care less about his talent level, that is not the type of person who should be able to call themselves a Colorado Buffalo. He may be very talented, but I would like to see him redeem himself elsewhere.

Umu violated team rules, so that is a MM decision. I don't know the make up of the locker room nor do I know the exact overall team attitude as I am not in there. However, he did not commit any type of legal crime.

Falo is an interesting case. MM knows his family very well due to his brother playing as SJU. This, like Umu, is a MM decision. He did get convicted of theft due to stealing things from dorm rooms so that is something to consider and obviously would be very personal growth. He also failed a drug test, but again, this is a young kid living in colorado. So if Falo has really taken the bull by the horns, then I would be happy to see a young man turn his life around.

Losing these three players had a massive impact on CU last season and put MM in a bad place with a lot of fans. He cannot control losing them, but he can control who is allowed back. It will be interesting to see what we do.

It sounds like you don't actually know what went down with Julmisse

Heres where I got most of my info earlier this season and just from hearing stuff from other students throughout the season (until i came across the GEM of a website recently.) Please tell me I'm wrong because it sucks to see this happen to someone this young.
It's a tough subject because it comes off as victim shaming, but the actual situation is rumored to have been far more of a "crazy ex-gf" causing a scene than actual "domestic abuse". I don't care to go much further on this because none of it is first hand knowledge, but almost all reports suggest it was an overblown situation and Julmisse is a good kid.

Interesting, i think we need to be very apprehensive due to Tumpkins.

Also a lot of indication that it was a one time event and that he took responsibility for his actions.

It is never okay to be violent towards women but you also don't condemn somebody for life for something that happens one time in the heat of an emotional exchange.

Be prepared for the rationalizers to come after you on this. There were two people in the hallway that night that know what happened. Yet there will be posters that will claim they know the player is innocent and falsely accused. Of course Julmisse did himself no favors by stealing a guys cell phone and fleeing the scene of an accident just a week or two after news of his domestic violence case went public. But yeah, women beaters need not apply.

You’re such a ****ing tool.

I don't even know if it's about innocence or not. Only thing I know is what I read, nothing more. Also, I don't know what the hell he was told to do to get a second chance. If he has done that, why wouldn't he deserve one?

AJ was given probation after he pleaded guilty to harassing the woman in question. He is serving the probation concurrently with the other charges related to his bad reaction to an auto collision.

If he’s given a tough but fair path back to the team and meets those criteria, he should be allowed back on the team. He was given probation by the Boulder DAs office, which speaks volumes IMO. If the DA had evidence of what AJ has been accused of on this site, I don’t think the incident with the ex would’ve received one year of probation served along with the road incident.

I agree that he should not be condemned for life, but I just don't think his second opportunity should come from CU. I hope he recovers from the mistake, but I just don't want him representing us. Agree to disagree maybe.

We need to be apprehensive of Julmisse because of Tumpkin?

I don’t get it.

MM already has a MAJOR strike against him for the handling of a previous case similar to this. He should learn his lesson and have a zero tolerance policy in my opinion. I can understand learning from a drug offense or a DUI or even a robbery, those I am not opposed to second chances. I just don't want people representing my school that have assaulted women nor do I want us to be the school that gives them their second chance. Weird and touchy subject, but I would just stay away. We have enough young DBs coming in that we will be ok.

You and I have a very different definition of a MAJOR strike against MM.

Perhaps one of the dumbest things I've read on this board in a long time.

Ok, but me and the board of regents don't. Remember when they put of signing his extension and brought it to a vote? That was due to the Tumpkin situation, there was an investigation and everything. I'd say that it was the most legitimate strike we could possibly reference and it tarnished the end of the 10 win season by bringing us into the national spotlight over the alleged mishandling of a domestic violence case by the upper management of CU.

Maybe take a break for the night. Everyone knows the Tumpkin situation. Not to be the grammar police, but that first sentence is atrocious.

You want him back? What has he done for the program other than bring shame to the team? Let him prove himself elsewhere, I don't want that crap around campus when we have this class of DBs and I am positive that I do not want my tuition money paying for him.

Hell yes I want Julmisse back.

The guy has potential no doubt, but I'm not trying to set that precedent. Look at Oregon, top WR gets a DUI, he's off the squad. I bet the rest of the team noticed.

Please tell me you are not talking about Carrington. That would signal some serious ignorance on your part.

You realize Carrington had a massive history of 2nd/3rd/4th/5th/etc. chances, right?

Julmisse committed a crime like two weeks after the first. Different situations yea, but the same principle.

Julmisse got a DUI?

Worse, he was convicted of beating up his girlfriend who caught him cheating then stole someones phone following a car accident a few weeks after.

Put your mom, sister, girlfriend, wife, niece in that girls shoes and then tell me "Hell yes I want Julmisse back." Y'all seem like a bunch of freaks defending this clown.
