KD Nixon UNdeclares for the NFL Draft

Best of luck to him, but I would have advised him to get his degree. At 5'8" he is fighting an uphill batttle at WR in the NFL. Maybe stick around and work on kick return skills would not have hurt his draft stock.

He's been hinting at it even before the start of the season, so no real surprise, but yeah .... not sure is a smart decision football wise, unless he really really really likes Canada

I don't believe this is a wise decision. I also think, given the film, that even if KD has a great workout at CU's pro day, he won't get drafted. Honestly, without some improvement he would even struggle to stick in the CFL. Now, put him as one of the American's in the World League of American Football and he would be the man. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and ends up with a great NFL career.

Hopefully, he knows something we don't. I wasn't too impressed this year aside from the flea-flicker vs NEB and the 2 crossing route TDs vs USC.

That said, he's got serious speed and might test well. He's a hard worker. Hoping for the best. I don't think Tucker would be publicly giving his endorsement if he didn't think KD had a shot.

I have a few thoughts...

I want to wish KD best of luck in the league. But there is no chance he gets drafted. Why would you declare for the draft if you’re not going to get drafted? I think he could really benefit from a senior year, and I don’t think this is wise at all. I wonder how much convincing (if any) the coaching staff did to try to get him to stay.

Either way, this WR group is loaded and will definitely be more than okay. Best of luck KD, but I’m a little baffled.

That was his size for that position, I'm pretty sure.
KD is going to have as big an obstacle due to his size.

The NFL wants big targets, guys who have a big catch radius. KD doesn't do that.

More undersized RBs contribute than undersized WRs.

True, depends where he'd play though. Plenty of short dudes have worked the slot in the NFL.

Like others, certainly wish KD nothing the best. We obviously have recent precedent for a player going the UDFA route due to concerns about measurables, but making it work. Phil is of course the exception, but still hope KD’s bet on himself pays off.

When looking back on the Desoto duo, you would think about their big performances against Nebraska.

So we lose our top 3 wr's in viska, brown and nixon. New qb and who is going to replace these guys? Arias, jackson one of the freshman?

Will it matter if we can run the ball well and use more TEs in the passing game? Think more two WR formations than three WR formations.
