BUT COACH PRIME SAID IF ONE FIGHTS WE ALL FIGHT, SO THAT HAS TO MEAN THAT THE ENTIRE TEAM WILL START THROWING PUNCHES AND GET EJECTED AND WE'LL LOSE GAMES BECAUSE THEY'RE FIGHTINGGGGGG ARRHRHJADSKFJHASDKLGFJHKSLDGJLSKD!!!!
Yeah yeah. Young guys, us against them, testosterone... I mean what could go wrong?

Oh I forgot, these players and this team are different from other 18-21 year olds.

I’m honestly confused by the guys here defending the players who walked off the field after the fight.

He clearly doesn’t literally want them to fight each other. Just stand up for your guys as a team/group
And they've probably been taught to walk away to avoid a penalty in the past. I think that's a pretty standard expectation on most teams.

"Shoulder to shoulder we will fight" is not to be taken literally according to some fans. Should replace with "run away and leave them behind to make sure the refs don't penalize you for being involved."
Obviously false. Shoulder to Shoulder is a reference to the Greek Phalanx, a storied formation that some could argue is the basis of western civilization as without it the Greeks would have been crushed by the Persian hordes. When the fight broke out, the guys jogging off the field screwed up by not sprinting to pick up the shields and spears necessary for their brothers in battle to assume the phalanx formation and crush their enemies.

The student section is going to be electric this year. The type of noise I think we see, I think will remind us of when Jeff George kept crying and stopping the game because it was too loud. It's going to be that type of loud.
Since that was before my time, how exactly was this going down? I’m guessing he wasn’t using timeouts but somehow still got the refs to stop the game due to crowd noise? The ****?
I need to stop listening to national podcasts. The most recent one from the athletic was a P12 preview where they said Colorado winning 4 games would be a massive success. They think CU is looking at 59-10 kind of loss against TCU and think most teams we play will probably decide to run up the score just to prove a point against Prime and recruiting.

I can’t imagine the victory lap and I told you so mentality this fan base is going to have if @#1 pick is right and CU beats/blows out TCU
I get irrationally frustrated by this too. I get that they don’t follow CU like we all do but also if your job is to evaluate and discuss college football teams, maybe don’t **** all over the one(s) you really know nothing about.

No. He didn’t get the refs to stop the game. They basically told him to nut up and play. It was glorious. The more he whined, the louder we got.

I was there, Illinois was headed into the horseshoe at about the 30. Folsom was loud, maybe as loud as I ever remember it. The student section was going off and making it impossible for Jeff George to audible. He backed away and asked the refs to do something. The play clock expired and Illinois got a penalty. He lined up again and we got LOUDER. Skull rattling loud, he backed away and begged the ref to do something. Then, in true Folsom fashion the students began chanting "George is a pussy". My pops was at home and he said you could hear the chant over broadcast TV. Good times.

I found the game on YT, Enjoy.

Go to about 40:00

Illinois came into Folsom ranked in the top 20 and I consider that game to be among the funnest fan experiences in Colorado football history. The defense was loaded for bear and were battering Jeff George. The fans were loud, he couldn’t hear, he was whining to the officials, looking to the sidelines, and he was calling time outs. Eventually CU made him quit about 3/4ers into the game. It was great. CU really cemented Jeff George’s whiner reputation that day.

I was at that game stone cold sober ushering in the Flatiron Clubs with a perfect view of the field. I've got zero recollection of the Illinois game, probably because I was hungover and I was still modestly apathetic about the football team.

The Washington win on the road the following week after Sal's death caused me to snap in, being really engaged as a fan going forward.

If anybody cares, I just found this full replay of the Illinois game on YT

If you watch the video of the Illinois game, the crowd noise issues start at 32:06 culminating in an on screen stat of # of complaints to referees at the 46:39 mark.

The game matters more than the fight.

Illinois fans were so salty that day, before and after the game.

Watched an Adam M. and B. Howell video. They are very high on Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan, say he's really coming on strong. 6' 10", 315. tallest CU FB player ever. The 2 tallest before him were 6' 9": Steve Young, OL 3rd round NFL, Nate Solder 1st round.

(Also, Vassett the punter, graduated HS in 2014 in Australia, worked construction for several years, before going to a football training place. I like that kind of story)
"6-foot-10 (!!), 310-pound offensive tackle Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan didn’t like Milliner-Jones’ late hit and immediately got up in his face. That sparked both sides of the ball to go at it."

I think this guy is going to have a great year. (also, the DNVR video yesterday said Vassett hit an 80 yard punt!)

I heard Vassett talking to Darius. Apparently he is a Darragh O'neill style punter.

You are patient. I watch Coach Prime's speeches to the team and actual practice. I skip all the pre practice BS sessions and anything that involves a green jersey. I guess what I'm saying is that I watch about 3-4 minutes of every 30 minutes Bucky drops.
