'12 CO OT Paul Thurston (Signed to Nebraska)

I hope you're right too. I continue to hold out hope that his commitment to Nebraska is a ruse. Can't say I know too much about the history of Colorado players in college, but I agree with most of the posters that ideally we should be getting the top in-state players every year. Looks like the most competition at this stage is from UW and ASU. I can't see teams like Auburn and Penn State raiding Colorado all that often. It's impossible to know which players will excel, but losing in-state guys that end up being stars hurts just a little bit more than the others.

Speaking of OL going to nubs from CO, there was Matt Slauson who's with the Jets now, right? ugh... I'm going to go puke for knowing that.

To be fair, Matt is really from Oregon...he spent like a year or something in colorado because his dad got a teaching job. His dad is like a principal or something at a Lincoln High School now.

...you know I for some inane reason thought we'd have a shot at flipping Thurston...but I just learned that one of A West's assistant coaches played C for Nebraska when they won championships. I'd imagine he had to have somewhat influenced Paul's decision. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere in this thread...I'm too hung over, tired and lazy right now to check if it was.

Losing players to Nebraska is really annoying. Kenny Bell should be a Buff...and so should Paul Thurston. Whatever though - I'm crying over spilt milk and best of luck to them both.

Thurston's the in-state loss that really hurts. I thought that with getting Mustoe last year that we would pull Thurston this year. I think he's the top in-state prospect this year and we should have gotten him.

Bullcrap. I hope they have a terrible time on Cornholer U, and every day regret not coming to CU. I hope they come back and tell every CO HS kid to stay away from kNU and tell them to stay home and steer them to play for the BUFFS!
