'15 CA OLB NJ Falo (Signed to COLORADO)

He looks lean and mean. While more and more teams are going to the spread, I think linebackers are still a crucially important part of the defense. Wherever this dude plays, he looks athletic enough to do some damage.

He was mentioned in a 247 sports article about prospects in the draft that were much better than their ranking and compared them to players in this year's class.

Dee Ford
247Sports Composite 3-star (.8789), No. 12 WDE

What we learned: Ford is another late bloomer on the recruiting trail but the bigger hinderance for him was that he was a tweener. He was a defensive end in a linebacker’s body. More importantly though, he was wildly productive as a senior (18 sacks) and he was a physical specimen.

2015 Comparison: Nu’umotu Falo, Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum
Auburn discovered Dee Ford in part thanks to an impressive camp performance. Falo has had some similar performances the past two years at camps of his own. Similar to Ford, Falo is an undersized pass rusher at 6-2 but his rush instincts are terrific and the Colorado commit could easily play with his hand down full-time. This is the type of player that can develop into a household name.

Going with the Andy Reid-style of tweener fast balls off the edge w/ Fehoko & Falo. I like it

Early commit.

And I hope it is because he is making it clear that his commit is solid. Schools often continue to recruit kids who are committed, in some cases they look for them trying to steal a diamond in the rough. Some kids squash this by making it clear that they are solid and not listening. Hope that's the case here because I think this kid could be a star for us.

And by several weeks he means three months ago

Ah yes, thanks for being there to correct with minor details.

He has not visited Boulder and was rather clear in that interview he was going to continue to talk to schools.

Inderkum's Nu'umotu Falo (1), tackles Rio Linda's Marcel Brown (8),
during the second quarter as the Inderkum High School Tigers host the Rio Linda High School Knights football team,
Friday October 31, 2014.
Brian Baer/Special to The Bee

NJ's team (Inderkum Tigers) is doing well - they are 9-1 for the season and 6-0 in league play.

Inderkum beat Rio Linda, on Oct. 31, by a score of 62-21.
NJ Falo's team won their most recent conference game Nov. 8, score 55 to 0.

Inderkum hosts its first playoff game this season, at home, Nov. 14th vs. Sacramento Valley. (Valley is 6-4 for the season.)

Talked to N.J., he'll be in Boulder next week.

"They're telling me that they want someone who can come in and take the spot. Not just play for it, but come and take it. I'm looking forward to that."

With the LB corp as thin as it is, and his athleticism, this guy could get lots of playing time...maybe even start in 2015??

This guy is going to be a monster. We need LB's badly. I know some posters are frustrated by recruiting but Falo is an example of how good the staff is at finding gems. Once we have the resources to flex these scouting muscles we're going to see a lot better recruiting results.
