22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

This is all new ground in college football.

It's a pro game now.

Never before, has a bottom dwelling program, filled with kids who had few if any other P5 offers of any sort, been taken over by a guy who could recruit at the highest level. Literally bottom few to top few, a swing so great, that it's never been seen. This has NEVER happened before that I can recall.

USC signed 26 transfers last season. The disparity from where the USC program was at this time last year, compared to what level their new coach could recruit at was pretty minor compared to what is happening before our eyes in Boulder. New ground.

Why are transfers one and done? That number would include 25 freshmen and 40 transfers which would range from 1-4 years of eligibility remaining.
I guess the real question...Are there 20 players on our current team that he wants to keep?
My point is that he has to spread the scholarships out for class balance just as you said. He can't class load with upperclassmen.

“clamoring to get paid” aka being compensated the bare minimum amount based on how much money schools make off football/the risk they take

we’ve got some overnight hard asses after the Prime hiring who have lost all semblance of empathy. it’s possible to have high standards of performance while at the same time not ****ing over student athletes who are trying to honor their commitment in exchange for a piece of paper that’s becoming less valuable each year

plus, we still need guys for special teams

Scholarships aren't freebies, they have to be earned every year.

I'm pretty sure he can do whatever the F he wants. Unbalanced class - tweet at the transfer portal next year!
You have to be back within balance next year and I doubt Prime is going to cut guys he brought in. Thus the “one and done” reference in my original post.
