Listening to FM87.7 last night driving home, and Les and the other two were talking to Henderson from The Post about CU. Henderson posed the question about whether they thought Hawk would keeps his job if he wins all his Big xii home games, and the Kansas game on the road. It would give the team an 8-4 record, and most likely a decent bowl game. There was a bit of mumbling, and then they turned around and posed the question to Henderson, to which Henderson said he spoke with Bohn, but things were said off the record. He then tried to find the right words to use, and basically laid out what he said Hawk would have to do to keep his job:
- Show that the team can be competitive on the road against the better division foes. Games must be competitive throughout the game. Last second garbage time TD’s to make the score close when it was lopsided the rest of the game doesn’t count. He cannot have another Cal type showing, and he has to win at least 1 road game (which should be a gimmie with Kansas)
- He needs to win all his conference games at home. NO excuses!
- Assuming the other two occur; Hawk needs to have a good showing at the bowl game, and most likely win. A bad loss would cost him his job.
This, and every Saturday going forward, will be a big weekend for Hawk if he wants to keep his job.
