Does that make Mack Brown a better coach than Bob Stoops?
Texas may not need to win the national championship this year for Mack to make that claim. Mack has won 3 out of the last 4 against Stoops.
I'd say Mack has better defensive assistants 3 or the last 4. He is 4-6 overall against Stoops. Maybe Stoops has been to loyal to Venables???
Mack Brown is so overrated!
(I'm thinking that argument would officially have no validity)
Fans of 11 schools in the Big 12 list Arizona as their second favorite team, because the better Mike Stoops does there means the less the chance of him getting canned and resurfacing with his brother in Norman.
You could put a ****ing retarded monkey with a headset on the sideline of Texas and they would still recruit well and get great talent. Stoops anyday...anyday.
For a coach to guide his team to beating a #1, #11, #6, and potentially #6 four weeks straight without a break could be the one of the greatest accomplishments I have seen in college football. That is a horrific stretch and the reason why NFL teams do not go undefeated. Kudos to Brown if he pulls this off.

You're right. That explains the outstanding teams Texas had the prior two decades before Mack Brown's arrival, right?
Does the school make the coach, or does the coach make the school?
If Stoops were to show up in Austin and had access to all of the resources and treasure that UT has to offer, wouldn't he do as well or better than Brown? It's hard to imagine him doing worse. If Mike Leach was in Austin, he might have done as well as Brown.
On the contrary, if Mack were to end up in Norman or Lubbock, would those programs be any better off?
Mack Brown was pretty damn good at North Carolina before he left for UT.

Great point...UT was lame for many years, as was OU. Both coaches turned around their programs, unfortunately (for CU, that is)You're right. That explains the outstanding teams Texas had the prior two decades before Mack Brown's arrival, right?
How has stoops done in the last game of the year the last 10 years vs Mack Brown? It is all about finishing!
cough cough 1 conference championship, only 2 appearances..... I'd say he mack isnt finishing the year very good.....
bowl games dont mean doodly squat unless its for the glass.... you can have all the alamo and holiday bowl victories you want. in addition you have never heard Bob cry about how unfair the BCS is like Mack did from 2001-2004 until his whining got Texas a Rose Bowl invite in 2004.....
