Other games thread 9-19/20

That giant Bear Down on UA's field is pretty dumb looking.

Especially when they are playing the Bears.

Gentlemen, please have some respect for Zona's rich history. Back in the autumn of '42, Rudy Gipper Gump was a star wingback for the Wildcats whose college career was interrupted to serve his country in the Korean Way. He returned in '46 with nerve damage from being exposed to mustard gas while fighting against the Swiss Foreign Legion in the trenches near Bimini. That nerve damage resulted in a partial facial paralysis which led to the saying, "keep a stiff upper lip." Anyway, in his first game back, he made one of the most celebrated plays in Zona history when he took a kickoff return the distance and kept running all the way off the field and into the tunnel. But, later, he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease and in his farewell address to the Arizona faithful he said, "When the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there and Bear Down." Some have suggested that Rudy Gipper Gump was of sub-normal IQ (or had just taken too many concussions) and that he thought he played for Cal. Regardless, from that day forward "Bear Down" has been the rallying cry for the Tucson faithful.

I'm getting so tired of teams getting bailed out by interference calls on uncatchable balls.
