Pretty accurate. Damn.Ive always said "Codys mind + tylers ability = A good qb"
Hardly, TH hasn't had every sixth pass batted down at the LOS, hasn't retreated 31 yards into the endzone for a safety or single handedly set a new mark for INT's. I'll take TH over CH every day of the week and 2x on Saturday.Must.....get.....better. that ripped, I'm going to get killed here, Hawkins for playing Cody over Tyler owe Cody an apology. Hansen is gawd aThose wful. Ugh. Our QB situation can only get better. Tyler has a football IQ of, maybe, 75.
Cody Hawkins sucked and had no business playing for an FBS level team. Daddy sucked even more for jerking around Hansen for 3+ years.
Watching CU yesterday and it is perfectly clear that there are only a few junior and senior players on this team with any ability. DII sucked as a coach and sucked at recruiting.
It is going to take 5-8 years to undue all the damage that assclown did.
Lobstertail was condisderabkly better. When Wash St's back up quarterback is considerably better than your starter, you're in trouble.

Lobbestael is a decent QB and a 5th year senior. (what TH should be next year). He has a good deal of previous experience, and so far this year has been doing very well in place of Tuel. Having their backup is not quite as bad as it sounds, since the starter is very good and this backup has quite a bit of experience under his belt. Lobbestael has played in 19 games overall while TH has played in 20. I am confident that if TH had redshirted his freshman year and been brought along through a normal coaching staff, he would be a damn good QB by now and heading into next year would be one to watch. Unfortunately D II screwed us in that aspect as well. TH hasn't been bad this year though, and most of our issues seem to be on defense and the o-line. If the o-line would cut the drive killing penalties in half and the D would step up and make a play when we need one we would have won 4 of the past 5 and put up quite a fight at OSU. TH is not the long term solution but I think he is doing the best he can right now and giving us a fighting chance more often than not.
Not at all damaged goods, my only point was he hasn't truly been coached by a QB coach until this year. I am saying if he was right now a redshirt junior with proper coaching he would be much better than he is at the moment. TH is great and I think he puts everything he has into the game to try and come out with a win. I just dont think he has had the coaching to give him an opportunity to excel at this level until very recently and with another year in the system would have probably been fantastic next year had hawk not burned his RS twice. So you think that since he didn't RS he's damaged goods? I know he got a raw deal from the previous staff, but it's time to move on and step up. Lobbestael seems to be making the most out of his opportunity, why isn't Tyler?

The question I think would be is that if we bench tyler now before the halfway point and not let him see the field at all the rest of the season, would we have a shot at a petition to the NCAA for a RS? Give NH some experience, coach up TH in the system another year and have a 5th year senior, a true freshman a RS sophomore, and a talented transfer compete for the starting QB gig next fall?A real question we should be debating is whether or not it's worth it to give Hirsch some game experience yet???
I know that would be giving Hansen an even more raw deal, but it's not like he's earned anything with this team during his tenure.....so unless he is really night and day better than Hirsch, at what point to you start preparing for next year already?
I don't think Tyler's the problem. He's better than what a lot of teams have. We've got so many other problems that Tyler's way down on my list of things to bitch about.
TH doesn't have nearly the amount of experience at this point as he should have. When your SR QB is singlehandedly ending drives by forcing the ball into double coverage, I think it's a problem worth discussing. An experienced QB shouldn't be making those types of mistakes.

Feel free. But you're overstating the problem. Did you see how many open receivers that WSU's QB missed yesterday?
I'm more concerned about the fact that we played a spread team with a MASH unit of a secondary and weren't able to run the ball for **** to shorten the game. Also, that we couldn't run or protect or avoid penalties for 2 straight drives when we had a chance to put the game away but, instead, had 2 straight drives that lost yardage.

Stanford on the Road is certainly not the place to do it.....but if we haven't won come Arizona at home, why the hell not?
The last DIV1 QB cu had was detmer......

Moschetti was pretty good.
There's already a thread on that topic. We're talking about Tyler right now. :smile2:
