Predictions for RMS

Subject: Look, I hate CU's yellow belly ways... but they desperately needed any advantage
Posted by: ramdom on Wed Aug 29 2012 3:40:07 PM
Message:they could get to Beat CSU. Bohn's Home Field advantages paid off
just enough to get 2 big W's, at a time when tUCB needed them most.

I abhor what UCB did, but not sure it's movement can be blamed for the
lower crowds thereafter. Please explain your theory further if you wish

Subject: Te bigger question is why has CU been so interested in killing the game in Denve
Posted by: Swoll Cracker on Wed Aug 29 2012 1:00:27 PM
Message:Could it be that they were so afraid of losing if they had to play it on a level playing
field?

Subject: I think its only fair..
Posted by: State on Wed Aug 29 2012 1:05:45 PM
Message:CUs argument had been that hughes was not big enough.

well, 42K is big enough aparently since you play at Wash St also and
dont have a problem there.

so either lets end it.. or call CUs bluff and take it to the campuses
if thats what they want.

just my opinion

Jesus Christ! Are you kidding me? The entire CU Fan base wanted to keep this game on campus (that means Hughes)! 100%, lockstep. Our AD fought to keep it on our campuses. CSU wasn't making enough money there. They wanted to get it off campus. They lobbied with the Governor and State Legislature.

This is ridiculous! We.wanted.the.game.at.Hughes.you.stupid.****ing.****s! ****!!!

CSU predicted to sell 1k tickets less than last year

And only 3k student tickets to the game. WTF? They are selling the student tickets for $25 to the biggest game of their new great era, and they can't even sell close to half of them? Unbelievable!

That's a pretty long way to ride a sheep.

I thought he said the talent difference between CU and CSU was about as wide of a gap as CU and USC.

did you hear Joel Dressen saying that CU was scared to go up to Fort Collins and play? where do they find these guys.
No. It was the host who said that (Clough?) and Dempsey disagreed. Then he picked csu by 3.

The more I read their crying, the more just a W seems unsatisfying. Need to knock their dicks in the dirt, put them in their place.

Now CSU's low attendance is due to our TV deal moving the game to Saturday which means a beer tour (New Belgium, Tour de Fat) will still be going on

That is pitiful.

But hey, that new stadium sure will put people in the seats.

U guys suck. You fail to realize the activities planned in ft fun at gametime

At least the game cleared 50k attendance!

Hey, wait a minute. There is a football stadium in Colorado that holds almost the precise number of tickets sold...... maybe the game should be played there!

What also amuses me is that if this game was in Fort Collins in their new stadium, then they would still be outnumbered by CU fans

Geez I watched the altitude college football edition and youd think we had Alabama this week with Grayson being Joe Montana. One of them even called Checkdown a really good qb, I almost threw up in my mouth a little. Victor picked us 28-14.

The media has to act like this is a legitimate matchup in order not to offend the CSU alum, even if they don't care enough buy tickets they are still sensitive to how their school is percieved.

A bigger reason for them to act like it is a legitimate matchup is because they want to maintain it as story worth covering and maintaining interest.

The solution is for CU to blast the sheep by a big enough margin each year to remove any pretense of a competitive event.

We have been saying this and hoping it comes true for how long now?

I was driving home around 8:30 tonight. I was flipping the radio around trying to find a local sports show that might be discussing the CU vs csu game. I came across some guy named Brandon Spano on 93.7. He had an "expert" on from some .com site. So, Spano asked the "expert" what he thought of CU. The guy goes off on how good CU's quarterback, Connor Wood, is and that he has 3 years of eligibility left "so, if he doesn't go to the NFL early, CU has a great QB." WTF? But to top it off, Mr. Local Yocal sports guy, Brandon Spano, didn't say a thing. At the end he complicated Mr. Expert for his fantastic analysis and cannot wait to have him on again. :bang:

Well I want to complicate you on your story. :smile2:

I think in general we have been trending in the right direction. With an average margin of victory of 19 points in our last 3 wins, we have been beating them fairly handily. And that was mostly under Hawkins. I guess that for the sheep, hope springs eternal.

True. We are not blasting anybody. Sadly, I am just hoping we a get a win.

I recall our last 3 wins not being so much because of a dominant performance from us, but downright pathetic performance from CSU.

NCAA Clearinghouse issues continue to sideline defensive tackle Shaq Walker, and may keep him from playing in Saturday’s season opener against Colorado.
Walker is a 6-2, 320-pound freshman from Lamar County High in Barnesville, Ga. It was thought he may be available for reserve duty for the game, and perhaps he will be, but no one outside of the program will know now until game time at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday.

Isn't he one of their best remaining defensive players?

He's one of 3 guys over 300 on the DL. Other being tonga (missed most of camp) and their soph starter. Gonna be interesting to see how they hold up.
