Local Media Coverage of firing/hiring - (was: Joel Klatt is having a meltdown)

Just tuned into MileHighSports from Big Al and as they cut to commercial they mentioned "north of $2.5mm/year" for the next coach. Where did that come from?

Ringo and I......

Kyle Ringo@KyleRingo Jon Embree says CU officials talk a good game about wanting to be competitive in football but don't back it up with actions day-to-day basis
JCoulter@jcoulterbrown
@KyleRingo Yet to hear Embree take one bit of responsibilty for leading the WORST CU football team in 120 years? Maybe you can ask him KR?
Kyle Ringo@KyleRingo
@jcoulterbrown Well someone hasn't been paying attention. He has routinely said he is ultimately responsible for the product on the field
JCoulter@jcoulterbrown
@KyleRingo Come on Kyle, the guy has blamed everyone and everything all day long. Surely you can't be serious? You upset you had it so wrong?

Goodman says he got a text from a school official. They have some well informed people at that station.

All Embree did was talk this year. No substance. Hell that's all he did most of the time he was here.

Power running game? Still waiting..
Fix the defense? Still waiting..
Find a QB? still waiting..

And I've listened to him twice today and he only uttered one moment of responsibility when he said he hoped the next guy would do better than he did. He then immediately complained about only being given 2 months to "turn it around."

Btw, turning it around =/= losing to Sac State. That's all we asked. Not lose by 50 every week, beat Sacramento State and you'd be able to change everything in the program you've been working towards. That's it.

god i hope reed isnt right when he is hearing the man with his own gravitational field is on the list

Where has all this criticism from Ringo been for the last 3 years? Its like somebody told the press its open season since its getting some run.

Mile High Sports had an interesting interview with Gary Barnett. He thinks this started a while ago and from higher up than Bohn. He thinks that they hired someone (probably Chuck Neinas) to search for candidates and one of them agreed to take the job on Saturday so they fired Embree. That would explain why Embree was so shocked and why Bohn gave every impression that Embree would be retained. He wasn't in the loop.

Does any one know if any of these guys, Al, CJ, Klatt, etc... actually donate and buy tickets. Its all great that they are former players and alum, but unless you are contributing you don't get a say. If they wanted JE to remain coach, pony up the $$$$ to get facilities and pay salaries. This outrage is really starting to pee me off. I don't make anywhere near what they made in their career or probably make now, but at least I am putting my hard earned money to support the program and I couldn't take the ridicule the school was having. It is tough living in KSU/KU/OU/OSU country when they all laugh at CU, talking about how glad they are that we left, made them a better conference for leaving.

Ringo is a joke. Second rate all the way....

Good..Let's hear the announcement for a new coach, new facilities, then tell all of these so-called Buff 4 Life ex player J bags to hit the ****ing road. And tell the SID to leave too.

Barnett is just speculating and he is wrong.

Actually, from what I hear the B4L doofuses are mad at Bohn precisely because he won't comp them tix and free beers, just because they are former players!

Like Barnett and all, but I'm with 'Nik on this - remember who Neinas brought us one coach ago.
