Derek West did go to Pomona, played for Gary Klatt (Joel's dad) along with some other eventual Buffs including Brian Dyett.

Derek had if I'm not mistaken 4 brothers and his dad built what was basically a commercial kitchen on the house to feed them all since Derek was not outsized for the family. Their ability to eat was legendary.

In the video he seemed to line up against smaller guys, but that may have something to do with the fact that the TE lined up right nest to him much of the time, or it might also mean he's just that much bigger than his competition. Was Pomona mostly a running team last year? Glad to see the offer.

"It was coach Mac. It felt pretty good coming from CU. My dad went to CU, so I've been a Buffs fan since I was a kid."

"They showed me their practice and I got to meet some players and talk to the O-line coach [Gary Bernardi] some more. I love it up there. They said, you know, when you're ready, if this is truly where you want to [commit]. Coach Mac is really serious about when you commit, you've got to stay committed."

Had one of the top rushers in the state and top scoring offenses overall.

They are a balanced offense. Pomona has been one of the states best teams over the last decade. There oline over the years has not always had D1 size but they're always mean and nasty.

Looks like a good prospect, played mostly at guard in the video. Obinnah, Lynott, Erice lee, Avery Anderson, Conway and Middlemiss in the running for the number one prospect from Colorado.
