(Note- Brianna Karsseboom, a 5'10" outside hitter originally verbally committed to the Buffs in 2015 from the East Bay of No. California, ended up signing with UC- Davis. Kathryn Attar, a 6'0" outside hitter who was a Buff 2017 verbal commit from the Tampa area, is no longer showing as a CU commit on richkern.com as of Dec. 2015.)

Signing dates (updated annually for next academic year's (in this case 2020/21 seasons) freshman class):

Starting in 2018, there has been only one long signing period for ALL Olympic sports. This year it goes from Wednesday, November 11th, 2020 through August 1st, 2021. Assuming no changes (due to Covid-19 virus, etc.).
(This one signing period approach is a departure from years prior to 2018, which among other things was the 1st year soccer had the same signing period as other Olympic sports. See post #419 for more detail.)

Soccer recruits to date per topdrawersoccer.com

EDIT- See post #11 for updated list.

When I want to see what might be happening with Buff soccer recruiting, I usually go here 1st- http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/coll...women/colorado/clgid-205/tab-commitments#tabs .

I assume they do miss some recruits (they don't have the Ms. McPherson listed you mentioned already), but does seem to have been pretty accurate in the past. (I seem to remember comparing their list of 2014 commitments to what the formal signings were last year, and the site was pretty accurate.)

Edit/ Note- It looks like soccer is the only Olympic sport that does NOT have an early signing period, with the 1st signing day being the same as football this year (Feb. 4, 2015), and the end of the signing period being August 1st.

Anyway, here's the list of soccer players topdrawersoccer.com shows verbally committed to the Buffs, with some for classes in 2015, 2016 and even one for 2017 already (Note- the ratings and rankings listed in the last column are also from topdrawersoccer, and is among the information that can be found by clicking on the individual players' names.)

Obviously, if the ratings are close to accurate, next year is a VERY good recruiting class, with 3 players rated as being one of the nation's top 80 players (#'s 34, 43 and 80) per the IMG Acadamy 150 list (whatever that may be?- don't know soccer that well):

Buff Soccer commitments_2014-10.jpg

Note/ question to Mods- the above list was just made by copying the relevant topdrawersoccer info into Excel, and typing the rating and ranking info in. Then, since I couldn't find a way to include Excel data in this message directly, I converted the info into a jpeg file. If you prefer I attach the Excel file instead of or in addition to the above jpeg, let me know.

Also, since topdrawersoccer.com had this information in the public part of its website (they also do have premium memberships with more detail), I'm assuming it's OK I publicly give this list to you? Let me know if you think there might be an issue, and I'll delete.

Volleyball recruits

So volleyball, like all the other Olympic sports other than soccer, has the following signing periods coming up (per http://www.nationalletter.org/ )-

Early Signing Period: November 12, 2014 -November 19, 2014
Regular Signing Period: April 15, 2015 - August 1, 2015

Just to consolidate the volleyball recruits already noted in other allbuffs threads as young women we believe have verbally committed to the Buffs (learned from I believe multiple sources), here’s a list (with some linking information if I could easily find it):

For next year/ 2015:

(1) Taylor Joachim, a 6'4" rightside hitter (Lakeshore HS, Stevensville, Michigan- Stats- http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/lakeshore-lancers-(stevensville,mi)/volleyball/stats.htm, Dunes Volleyball Club- http://www.dunes.org/ )

(2) Aidan Lea, a 6'5" or 6'6" middle blocker (Kelowna, British Columba, Canada; Junior Heat Volleyball Club - https://news.ok.ubc.ca/juniorheat-vb/ )

(3) Naghede Abu from the Inland Empire of Southern California. a 6'3" or 6'4" middle blocker. (Riverside, California, Norte Vista High School; Rancho Valley Volleyball Club- http://www.ranchovalleyvolleyballclub.com/ ; Recruiting/ skills video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pONLl1dDtO4 )

For the year after/ 2016:

(1) Lauren Dorrell, 6’1” Outside Hitter (Father Ryan High School, Nashville, TN; Houston Juniors Volleyball Club- http://fastcomplex.com/ ; Recruiting video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVdFNLB4O8Y )

(2) Justine Spann, 5’8” Outside Hitter (Chandler, AZ, Basha High School, Stats- http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/basha-bears-(chandler,az)/volleyball/stats.htm ; Arizona Storm Club Volleyball- ; Article on her commitment- http://ctownrivals.com/2014/08/07/bashas-justine-spann-commits-to-colorado/ )

Volleyball recruiting seems pretty scattered. I thought it would have a footprint similar to football with even more emphasis on SoCal. TN, MI, Canada.

Lacrosse recruits

For lacrosse, CU’s newest NCAA D1 sport, the signing dates are the same as I listed above for volleyball.

Obviously this team, under rookie head coach Ann Elliot, got off to an awesome start last year- in its FIRST year of existence, finishing over .500 and I believe coming in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] in their conference. (For those who don’t know- unlike other CU sports (edit- skiing is another non-Pac 12 sport)- there aren’t enough Pac 12 teams competing (at least as of now) in women’s lacrosse for there to be a Pac 12 lacrosse conference, so the Buffs compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).)

I’ve found what looks to be a good website- laxpower.com, which keeps a database (hopefully somewhat up to date and accurate) of recruits who have committed to various universities. From using their search function (http://www.laxpower.com/recruits/recruits.php?db=wrecruits2015&action=view ) and typing in “Colorado”, (and of course adjusting the year referenced to get 2016 commitments), looks like the following young women are/ may be verbally committed to the Buffs so far for the next 2 years:

Note- updated 11/11/14 for new recruit (Collawn, Anna) showing up for 2016 in laxpower database.

Men's and women's golf recruits

So far, I haven't found a website that lists/ consolidates future college golf commitments.

I did find one tweet from a few months ago for an incoming member for the Buff men's team-

Ross Macdonald ‏@RED_ROCKET66 Apr 4
I'm excited to announce that I have Verbally Committed to play college golf at the University of Colorado #Buffs

Did a quick search, and it looks like Mr. Macdonald (a senior at Colorado's Valor Christian High School) among other things, is the 1st to win the Colorado Golf Association's junior stroke play championship back to back since the 1980's, and will have an opportunity to be a three time winner this summer. (Full article here- http://cogolf.org/index.php?mod=NewsMedia_Read&ArticleID=1175 ).

Note- Looking at CU's rosters for men's and women's golf, looks like there is only one male senior, and no women's seniors, so it could be that Mr. Macdonald may be the only incoming golfer for 2015.?.

Track and Cross Country recruiting news

I'm assuming there will be many more recruits officially, but I've only found one verbal commitment (for next year) for track and field/ cross country so far, via a twitter search-

Cayla Seligman ‏@caylaseligman Oct 7
So happy and excited to have committed to study and run at the University of Colorado! #gobuffshttp://instagram.com/p/t3rmi3sSBk/

I found Ms. Seligman's past results to date here (I don't know enough about track and field to comment)- http:/www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3599561 .

Note 1- They don't have any information for future Buffs right now, so assume they largely wait for formal written commitments, but I have found a couple different potential sources for recruiting information when formal signing periods do begin (track and field/ cross country has the same signing dates as I noted for volleyball, so the 1st early signing day is coming up November 12th.):
1) http://parser.dyestat.com/search.jsp?colID=7337
(Just lists Buff recruits- again nothing showing for 2015 yet)

2) http://www.milesplit.com/signings
(VERY few commitments showing nationwide. This link shows all signings for all colleges by athlete's home state. In the past, I've just searched for "y of colo" or something to find CU Buff recruits (although doing this, need of course to ignore entries for CU- Colorado Springs recruits.)

Note 2- Cross country and track and field are pooled for scholarship limit purposes. The reason I'm assuming there will be quite a few recruits for these sports is, per wikipedia, NCAA allows the equivalent of 12.6 male and 18.0 female track and field and cross country scholarships, so I assume quite a few seniors each year means quite a few freshmen each year. (Track and field/ cross country, like all other CU sports except football, basketball, volleyball and tennis, is an "equivalency sport. Per Wikipedia- ""Equivalency" sports, in which the NCAA limits the total financial aid that a school can offer in a given sport to the equivalent of a set number of full scholarships." In other words, partial scholarships are allowed for equivalency sports.)

For soccer in addition to Top Drawer you can go to the spread sheet linked below and scroll down to find the list for Colorado. The Buffs already have three committed to the class of '17. And the class that is going to be signed for '15 may be the best group (on paper) in CU history.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/spr...R1ZrSFFUbHFZblNCMnBNZnNqc1E&output=html&gid=5

Thanks so much for that link MarkW. Didn't know that resource existed, and thought topdrawersoccer was missing a few players based on a few Coach Trentham #CUin17 or #CUin16 tweets that didn't end up in new commitments being listed there. (One thing- I don't know youth soccer at all, so don't know which if any of the items being listed in the last column of that link are something notable that should be added to my note column below.)

cmgoods (Know you're busy now so no hurry- good luck with school!) or whoever, here's a revised list for soccer verbal commitments with the 3 player's added from the above linked worksheet. (I added columns to (1) show whether commitment is official or not (everything's of course verbal at this point), as well as the initial source for the commitment):

Great job AztecBuff! It's nice to see all the verbal commitments for soccer in one spread sheet with their accolades and club teams. BTW, the club team is what really matters in soccer recruitoing, not the HS. As I have stated earlier, the class of '15 appears to be great. It's a step in the right direction in terms of being competitive in the Pac 12.

The link I posted previously will update the accolades for the players such as getting called up to the national team or being the Olympic development pool, etc.

New cross country/ track verbal commitment- Joe Klecker

Found another verbal commitment via twitter, this time another potential member for the Buff’s men’s cross country and track teams, coming to Boulder this coming year (2015 recruit):

[tweet]529034602967744512[/tweet]

Looks like the recruit is Joseph (Joe?) Klecker, from Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Here are his cross country ( http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=1529642 ), and track and field (http://www.athletic.net/trackandfield/Athlete.aspx?AID=1529642 ) results to date.

From them, I gather:

1) He just finished 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] this weekend (as a senior) at the Minnesota AA state cross country championships, and also finished 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] as a sophomore. (No state cross country meet results as a junior, so assume he was probably out with injury.)

2) As a junior last school year, he finished 6[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 1600m and 5[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 3200m at the state meet.

Welcome to the Buffs! Hope all goes well for him!

Women's cross country/ track commitment- Kaleigh Kroeker

Just noticed that one of the running sites now have the Buffs with another cross country/ track verbal commitment- Ms. Kaleigh Kroeker from Pine Creek HS in Colorado Springs. (Source- http://www.milesplit.com/signings )

Always nice when in-state young men and women join the Buffs- Welcome to her, and hope both her academic and athletic aspirations are met at CU!!!

Her track results are at http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3804559, and cross country are at http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=3804559 .

A few notes looking at her results:

1) In track, looks like she came in 6th last year as a junior at the Colorado 5A state championships in the 1600M, and 13th in the 3,200M.

2) In cross country, she came in 55th in the recently completed Colorado 5A state championships. (Looks like she may have just had an off day there, as she easily won her regional race (by 20 seconds), and the young women who finished behind her 2nd-4th at regionals ended up 13th, 32nd and 11th at the State championships.)

I was waiting for confirmation before listing this possible commit to the women's volleyball team. Gabriella Carta-Samuels a 5'6" Libero from Archbishop Mitty High School. Sounds like a great player to go along with all the incoming trees in the 2015 class. Can't wait to see you in a CU uniform! Go Buffs!!!

2014-2015 UNDER ARMOUR THIRD-TEAM ALL-AMERICA

Sounds like she would be a nice recruit. Hope it's true and, if so, welcome to the Buffs!

Per Maxpreps, her team is #1 in California, and either #1 or #13 (2 separate ratings) nationally. (Looks like they lost late last week, so the #1 rankings may not yet reflect that loss.)

From her team's stats ( http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/archbishop-mitty-monarchs-(san-jose,ca)/volleyball/stats.htm ), looks like she is the defensive mainstay of what is obviously a great high school team. She leads the teams in digs at 292 (4.2/set, next highest player 2.5/set) and serve receive (387, next highest 308). So, assuming she is coming , she should help the defensive part of the team, already improving every year the last three (at least) years, continue to get stronger and stronger. Welcome to her!

(One week from today, early signing period officially starts (except for soccer) and we'll start getting official confirmation of the various young men and women mentioned in this thread .)

Also, just saw in the link that MObuff provided that, in addition to Ms. Carta-Samuels, Buff recruit Taylor Joachim was also named a 3rd Team All-American. Congrats to her for that honor!

New cross country/ track recruit- Danielle (Dani) Jones

Looks like the Buffs cross country and track teams have picked up another verbal commitment- Ms. Danielle (Dani) Jones from Arizona. Welcome to the Buffs!

[tweet]530555394402578435[/tweet]

Ms. Jones looks like a very impressive high school runner who hails from Desert Vista HS in Phoenix:

1) Per her track stats (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3932803 (among other things):

a. She won the Arizona State Division 1 Championships last year as a junior in the 1600M and 3200M, and got 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the 800M. She also ran on her team’s 4X800M relay, and they got 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] at State.

b. As a sophomore, she won the state 800m and 1600M, and got 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the 3200M.

c. I’m not the biggest track fan, but I believe the Arcadia Invitational is one of the top national meets for high schoolers. Last year as a junior, looks like she ended up 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the invitational 1600M at that meet (in 4:50.81). She was also the anchor leg on her teams 4X1600 relay at that meet, and they came in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP].

2) In cross country (stats- http://www.athletic.net/crosscountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=3932803 ):

a. Looks like she also won the AZ state championships in that last year as a junior. (This year’s race is this weekend.) Total bit of Trivia- the person who came in 2nd to her last year is evidently her younger sister Baylee, who was only a freshman at the time.

b. In one of the two big annual national cross country series for high schoolers (Nike sponsored NXN), she came in 4[SUP]th[/SUP] in the southwest region race, and followed that up with a 15[SUP]th[/SUP] place in the national race. (This was last year as a junior.)

c. This year, she’s already had a VERY good 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] place finish in another major early season national cross country race, the Woodbrige Cross Country Classic. She also had a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the Desert Twilight XC Invite this year, only a second or two behind probably the best Colorado runner (ranked 13[SUP]th[/SUP] in the country), junior Katie Rainsberger from Air Academy.

d. I know in cross country it's always (at least a little) joked that, due to the environmental (weather and terrain) aspects of the sport, "times don't matter". I'd assume, however it can't be a bad thing that it looks like Ms. Jones has already cut a minute off her 5,000M cross country time from last year (and as already noted she already won her state championships last year). Her best time going into this year was 17:48, and this year she's already ran 16:45 in the Desert Twilight Invite, which being an early race I assume wasn't even her at top form/ training yet.

e. In the national cross country rankings kept by dyestat.com (http://dyestatxcrankings.runnerspace.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=46052&do=news&news_id=297468 ), Ms. Jones is ranked #26 in the country. (She beat the #17[SUP]th[/SUP] ranked runner at Woodbridge. Always suspicious of how accurate high school rankings are, so take them with a grain of salt. I’m sure they’ll change a lot as the NXN and Footlocker qualifying and national races are run.)

3 more Track commitments

I'm getting ready for the soccer match, so don't have time to get more details on them, but looks like the Buffs have three more young women, all from Colorado, who Milesplit (http://www.milesplit.com/signings) has coming to Boulder to join the track (and possibly cross country?) team:

Mann, Elissa Monarch High School (Louisville, CO)
Mann, Karina Monarch High School (Louisville, CO)
Scholl, Tabor West Grand High School (Kremmling, CO)

Welcome all to the Buffs!

New track recruit- Hurdler Trenton Stringari

Looks like the Buffs have picked up another impressive track recruit, hurdler Trenton Stringari from Cañon City. (Source- http://www.canoncitydailyrecord.com...s-standout-trenton-stringari-verbally-commits .)

Welcome to him, and hope all goes well for him in Boulder both academically and athletically with the Buffs!

Found some results for him in maxpreps ( http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/tre...Z5AAmVebBJg/gendersport/track-field-stats.htm ). Notes from that source and others:

1) In the State Championships this past May as a Junior, Mr. Stringari won the 300M hurdles, and came in 3rd in the 110M hurdles.

2) Per the article I linked to above, "In the 2013 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships, Stringari finished second place by three-hundredths of a second in the 400-meter hurdles."

3) Also per the article- "Other schools who recruited Stringari were: Florida, USC, UCLA, North Carolina and Nebraska, among many others." And "Stringari narrowed his options to three schools: CU, University of Iowa, and University of Mississippi." That's a very impressive lists of schools for track, especially in the shorter distances.

4) Looks like a very versatile athlete, as he's currently 5th in Colorado 3A rushing yards in football ( http://preps.denverpost.com/home.html?site=default&tpl=Class&ClassID=3&Sport=1 ), including a game in late October where he rushed for 261 yards in 10 carries (http://www.canoncitydailyrecord.com...-stringari-goes-off-canon-city-tigers-victory). He's also been on the varsity basketball team the last two years. I'm always a fan of multi-sport athletes, and especially feel being someone who's been in the football "trenches" like him is less likely to be intimidated when lining up against other top flight athletes in either the Pac 12 or NCAA championships. (An example- the current NCAA champion in the 110M hurdles is an Oregon football player (Devon Allen).)

5) From the article, a couple miscellaneous things:
a) Always good to hear the under construction facility improvements referenced as being a factor.
b) Always interested to hear how recruiting works in sports like track, and it's discussed VERY briefly near the end of the article of how it worked for Mr. Stringari. (Track is one of those sports (unlike most at CU) where the NCAA allows partial scholarships, as long as the total scholarship dollars don't in total exceed the equivalent dollars of full scholarships up to the limit set for each sport. For track and field and cross country (they're combined for scholarship purposes), the limits are 12.6 equivalent for men and 18 for women.)
c) Sounds like lots of CU family history, and always nice to me to hear that. (Again, quoting the article- "Family was a factor in deciding which big-name school to choose. Stringari’s sister Demi Stringari (a 2013 CCHS grad) also goes to CU, his grandpa played football for the Buffaloes, and his aunt and cousin also went to the school.")

Anyway- welcome once again to Mr. Stringari

Another top track and cross country recruit- Brianna Schwartz

Looks like the Buffs women cross country and track teams have picked up another top recruit, Brianna Schwartz from Shaler Area HS in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Congrats and best wishes to her, and hope everything works out great for her at CU and with the Buffs!

[tweet]532239813261684737[/tweet]

(Article on her and her commitment- http://pa.milesplit.com/articles/13...es-verbal-commitment-to-colorado#.VGJa-cngcWN )

1) Just quoting her from the above article (some great things to hear for a Buff fan)-

““I was looking for a school with a good balance of running and academics, as well as a location that was ideal for training and college life,” Schwartz said. “The team and coaches were other important aspects. A strong team culture that I could instantly fit into was a huge factor because I never really had that. I also was looking for a coaching staff that I could trust and that is not only good at what they do but really enjoy it.”

….

“The whole atmosphere in Boulder was just something I've never been in before, and I really liked it,” she said. “The area is beautiful; the places to train are amazing. Obviously, the program is very good and very successful. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I felt right away I would fit in with them and the team.

“Another thing that I loved is that every athlete is dedicated. They all love training, and they want to be great. I knew that that kind of atmosphere is where I would be most successful while having fun doing it.”

…”

2) A few notes based on her track results (http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3855965) and other track news:

a. Found a short video of her setting the PA state indoor mile record AFTER falling down a few yards from the finish line- http://pa.milesplit.com/meets/152492/videos/?id=51212#.VGJoxPnF_ng . (So, definitely seems a hard driven extremely competitive athlete.)

b. In track, looks like she’s mainly a “miler”, as heading into her senior season she’s already the two time defending state champion (in her sophomore and junior years) in the 1600M, and defending state champion (see a. above) in the state indoor mile.

c. I did find an article saying she also her region’s (Western Pennsylvania (WPIAL)) record holder in the 800M and 3200M. (In the 3200M, she broke a record from 1990 this past May by 15 seconds, which is a huge improvement to any record in track.)

3) Re cross country (Results- http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=3855965)-

a. She just won her 1[SUP]st[/SUP] state cross country championships on November 1[SUP]st[/SUP] in tough weather (http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/...tate-cross-country-title/stories/201411020217) by ~ 9 seconds in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] fastest time ever on that course. This follows up on 5[SUP]th[/SUP] and 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] place state finishes as a junior and sophomore, respectively.

b. Last year as a junior, she came in 6[SUP]th[/SUP] in one of two major national cross country races, Foot Locker Nationals. (Here is a journal by her describing her cross country training and season last year ending up Foot Locker Nationals- http://pa.milesplit.com/articles/11...nal-brianna-schwartz-shaler-area#.VGJzifnF_ng .)

c. In the cross country rankings from dyestat.com (http://dyestatxcrankings.runnerspace...news_id=297468 ), Ms. Schwartz is ranked #9 in the country in the rankings dated 11/6.

(Note- I assume, especially with these top women recruits, the Buffs are benefiting from 2 former Buffs (Jenifer (Barringer) Simpson and Emma Coburn) being 2 of the top 2 (if not THE top 2) female professional middle distance/ distance runners in the nation right now, with both still being coached by CU Coaches Wetmore and Burroughs. Both are also volunteer assistant coaches for the team.)

Forgot I hadn’t researched anything on these 3 young women who are reported to have verbally committed to the Buffs, so am doing so now.

Elissa Mann

In general, it looks like Ms. Mann specializes more in the shorter middle distance (800M) runner, but has also helped out on Monarch’s cross country team.

1) Cross country (from results here- http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=3801821):

a. Looks like she finished 28[SUP]th[/SUP] overall while being the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] finisher for Monarch HS in its runner-up finish in the Colorado 5A state championships this year. In prior years, she came in 59[SUP]th[/SUP] as a junior and 15[SUP]th[/SUP] as a sophomore.
b. Last year as a junior, she came in 118[SUP]th[/SUP] in the NXN (Nike) National Championships.

2) In track (from http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3801821 )-

a. She came in 7[SUP]th[/SUP] in last school year’s 800M at the 5A state championships, and came in 9[SUP]th[/SUP] as a freshman. (No track results listed for her as a sophomore, so assume she might have suffered an injury.)
b. Per http://mohitrack.com/elissa-mann/ , she also holds the school record in the 400M, as well as being part of 4 school records in various relay races.

Karina Mann

Like (I assume?) her sister, it looks like Ms. Mann is a middle distance runner, but has also helped out on Monarch’s cross country team.

1) Cross country (from results here- http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=3801822)
a. In her 4 years in cross country, starting with her freshman year, her finish in the state championships was 93[SUP]rd[/SUP], 23[SUP]rd[/SUP], 27[SUP]th[/SUP] and 37[SUP]th[/SUP].
b. Last year as a junior, she came in 103rd in the NXN (Nike) National Championships.

2) In track (from http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=3801822 )-
a. She does not show any track results as a junior (injury?). In prior years, she came in 9[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 800M and 14[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 1600M at the 5A state championships as a sophomore, and came in 16[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 800M as a freshman.
b. Per http://mohitrack.com/karina-mann/ , she also has been part of 3 school records in various relay races.

Tabor Scholl

Ms. Scholl seems to have fun running all kinds of distance, with serious results from anywhere between 400M and cross country.

1) Cross country (from results here- http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=4194578):

a. At least in athletic.net, she’s only showing cross country results this year, where she WON the Colorado 2A state championships. (An article I found said she also won 3A at state as a freshman.)
b. Unlike most recruits, she has already raced a little with some Buffs, as she came in 5[SUP]th[/SUP] in this year’s CU Time Trial.

2) In track (from http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=4194578 )-

a. As mentioned above, Ms. Scholl has run a wide variety of distances, but assume will be middle or long distance runner going forward?:
i. As a junior this past school year, in the 2A state championships, she got 7[SUP]th[/SUP] in the (short) 400M and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the 1600. Then, in a meet which looks like it mainly include professionals (?Portland Track Festival), she got 5[SUP]th[/SUP] place in the Open 5000M and 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] in the Open 1500M. She also earned 6[SUP]th[/SUP] and 10[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 800M and mile, respectively, in the invitational races of the prestigious (for high schoolers) Mt. Sac relays. She also earned an impressive 6th place finish in the 1500M at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships.
ii. As a sophomore, she’s showing as having scored in 3 events of the 2A state championships- 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] in the 800M, 1[SUP]st[/SUP] in the 1600M and 6[SUP]th[/SUP] in the 3200M.
iii. As a freshman, she’s also showing as having great results in 3 events of the 2A state championships- 1[SUP]st[/SUP] in the 800M and 1600M and 2nd in the 3200M.

Just found a couple sources that add a few more golf recruits. All 3 of the below are listed as coming in next year (2015).

Per http://www.cogolf.org/index.php?mod=college_players_all , an additional man and woman are joining the Buffs (see post #8 for discussion on Ross MacDonald, also listed in this new source):
Mr. Pierce Aichinger, Valor Christian HS, Highlands Ranch, CO
Ms. Gillian Vance, Dakota Ridge HS, Littleton, CO

And then, per http://usatodayhss.com/2014/2014-15-college-commitments-thus-far , there’s also another young man verbally committed to Buffs’ golf:
Mr. John ‘Wilson’ Belk, Cheyenne Mountain High School, Colorado Springs, CO

I will edit this post if I find more information about the young men's and woman's golf history.

Wow. I was surprised to see that Brianna Karsseboom, former CU volleyball commit, will sign a letter of intent to UC-Davis.

http://www.contracostatimes.com/breaking-news/ci_26922419/national-letter-intent-east-bay-signings

I wonder what happened. Was it a casualty due to the fact that CU does not have a sand volleyball program? Anyone have any insight?

Thanks so much for the updated info. I'll remove Ms. Karsseboom from the posts in this thread I had written that had her listed as a Buff commitment.

As to what happened- I don't have any inside info. A first GUESS would be she decided to stay closer of home. (Davis being within an hour drive of most of the East Bay where I assume she lives based on her high school.)

Looking for a best case scenario as a Buffs fan, it may also be a sign of the Buffs just being better than when she was initially recruited (the Buffs were probably either a 1-19 or 4-20 Pac 12 team at that time). Therefore, she may have re-evaluated her situation and decided she may not have a good chance at getting playing time at CU, so decided to go to Davis which, although a decent team (RPI at 141) in a good league (WCC), is not currently on a par with the Buffs or the Pac 12.

Anyway, of course wish her only the best in Davis, which seemed a very nice town the time or two I've visited, and I believe UC-Davis is a very good academic institution.
