Official 2016 Coaching Carousel Thread - How safe is Kevin Sumlin´s job?

Searles to Miami
Chip Long to Memphis
Would have like to have both those guys on our staff.
Oh well at least Long will have a tougher time taking Colorado kids out of state.

I don't know what Long would've brought as an OC if he were to come here, but I'm happier he's out of the conference.

The other SEC coaches have to be praying Saban takes that job since he is personally responsible for getting 2-3 of them fired every year, including guys who would be considered elite coaches in any other league.

Very true. That is completely their fault though, why these coaches accept lower level sec jobs when they know there are elite coaches at places with great things going for them is a mystery to me. Dan Mullen is the perfect example.

Chris Peterson is a great example of what waiting can do for you. Herman really impressed me this year by not taking the south carolina job and waiting for a good opportunity instead of jumping for anything.

Pease did an incredible job confusing QBs with his coverage schemes this year. I see why Whittingham brought him out of retirement for 2015. I'm sure he hates to lose him. That's gonna hurt them. Pretty elite DC who had seen it all.

Pendergast was pretty good as a DC for USC and Cal though IIRC? Still, that USC coaching staff is massively underwhelming considering their resources. I forsee many a 7 win seasons there until Hayden rolls out.

Penn State DC Bob Shoop to Tennessee... and Tennessee is not paying the buyout. Not a good look for James Franklin.
