I disagree with some minor points in your post, but on these two points I really think you're 100% right.
We've got a good young core that needs the right nutrition, training and coaching regimen to be pretty darn good in a couple years.
Got to keep the hopper filled behind them though - no more of this "we have a decent line every 4-5 years if we get lucky and they all develop, and none get injured and none lose eligibility for other reasons" nonsense.
He dated a fellow allbuffer's sister... I heard he was dick.
Sold his jersey in the off season, suspended first half. Pulled his hammy in the second. Was making one handed catches, putting together a Heisman reel until he got hurt.
I think UGA had gone 0-3 or 0-4 at that point.
Idiot...at BEST.
Only thing I remember about Pesavento was when Oregon shut down our run game in the fiesta bowl, he looked about as effective as Cody Hawkins on a standard day.

The more I think about the firing of FHCMM, the more I"m liking it.
I was a big fan and loved his attitude, but we NEVER saw him get angry at a losing streak. If the head coach ain't angry, something ain't right.
So, I'm excited to see who we bring in next.

Chill. Like I’ve said I’m glad he’s moved on. I just don’t like tarnishing his legacy. Mac has been good to me personally as well as many of my friends on and off the field. Was Mac a great motivator? No. But he cared for his players and the stories being told are either exaggerated or false. That’s what ticked me off.
One thing that I appreciate about HCMM is that we didn't have any substantial off field issues with the players. Sure there were a few things here an there, but HCMM didn't put up with it. Players were released from the team and only after a substantial amount of time, he allowed most of them back in. He was a good teacher from that regard. (Ok, cue the 'life champions' comments now...)

There was a VERY SUBSTANTIAL off field issue with our coaching staff. He should have been fired right there on the spot. That does our program much more harm than an 18 yo kid getting in trouble
That's a polarizing topic on AB where many feel strongly that he followed the protocol that he was told versus that he should have known better regardless. I get both sides but for me, I rest the majority of the blame on DiStefano and lean more on giving Mac a partial pass. I know that doesn't rest well with many, but I believe he thought he was doing the right thing. I didn't intent to re-open this debate so I'll agree that incident was definitely the darkest cloud on the program during his tenure.

His W-L record is hard to argue with. I know what he stepped into, but he just didn't meet expectations. He had new facilities and a bunch more support / time / money than the last couple guys and on his way out basically said no one can win at Colorado. Always had a way of deflecting responsibility for losses and problems within the program.
Nice Ned Flanders type guy who cared about the players outside of football, yes. I wish he could have won more. No great wins over winning programs. I get that you were close to the guy, but maybe both you and the parents chiming in are looking at things with shaded glasses. I appreciate their takes too.

The nation laughs at Butch Jones claiming a Life Championship at Tennessee even more than they laugh at UCF claiming a national championship.
Everyone knows that Colorado won that Life Championship and is a ****ing unchallenged dynasty in this regard!
Huh? Not following... What does Butch Jones 'life championship' claim have to do with Colorado?
Context of his Life Championship claim and all the things that he put forward as just as important (or more important) than winning. Colorado has been doing that at such an elite level that it pisses me off that anyone else would claim that title.

You are wrong. An Administration that throws its coach under the bus even after he follows protocol does more damage than all of the above. You will never hear me defend MM, except when it comes to the Tumpkin ''controversy''.
He followed protocol? That’s not what the final report said.
He followed the protocol he had been trained in. It is completely unreasonable to change a rule or procedure, not inform those expected to follow it, then hold them accountable.
Could it have been handled better? Certainly but we are talking about a football coach not a law enforcement official, a counselor, a lawyer, etc. He looked for guidance from those who should have known and they failed him. In no way should that come down on him.
Fact is that MM insured that the (at the time alleged) victim was safe and reported to his direct superiors. If anyone should take the fall for the whole thing it is Dr. Phil.
Maybe he should be our HC.
I’d be a little concerned that power might go to @Buffnik’s heads, putting him in the center of the next scandal. We (AB) can’t afford the risk.
