#IsItNovemberYet

Ute fan on Pac12Board stated that the Utes missed a lot of three pointers and despite the Ute coach saying the culture was "off the charts", he's not seeing a good season out of the Utes. That got me thinking about the effect of the new three point line and how that could lead us back to playing Boyle ball where everyone needs to be taking the ball to the rim. Given CU's 3 point defense % before this season, I think this could really benefit the Buffs until everyone gets used to those three point shots at that new distance. Gotta strike while the iron is hot!

Tad struck out for a few years but yeah given the potential success of 2019/20 and the uptick in recruiting, let him coach here for as long as he wants.

Especially considering the terminal cancer that our football program has, Tad is fairly refreshing.

Seth Davis at the Athletic has us at #18 in preseason top 25.

"If I’m sticking with my experience theme, the Buffaloes have to get top consideration in the much-improved Pac-12 .. . . . "

(I won't link article since I think it's paywall).

I'm kind of relieved that CU didn't make the Top 25 and that should light a little fire under the CU players to have a good season. When I was seeing CU as high as #16, I was beginning to worry that would seep into the minds of the CU players to take the foot off the gas when it comes to preparation for the season.

It's a joke they weren't ranked. I was actually speaking to the NJ Hoops columnist Jerry Carino yesterday about Buffy... He has a vote, and he has them solidly in.

Watch out for Seton Hall BTW. Two 7 footers.....Myles Powell..they are loaded. The last player in their rotation is Taurean Thompson who is a 'Cuse transfer and a pretty good freaking player for your last guy.

I think the rank is good for this team. Close, but need to earn the Top 25 rank on the court.

That seems fair to me as an accurate description of where the team actually stands heading into the season.

It's a long season. There will be disappointments and triumphs. If the Buffs are to accomplish what I think they can accomplish (Pac 12 champs--either regular season or tournament and an appearance in the Sweet 16), they are going to have to be mentally strong enough that high rankings and media adoration don't affect them.

They are going to have to win on the road this season in conference play. Going to be visiting AZ, OR, and all four CA schools this year. No excuses for Buffs if they don't sweep the conference home slate this year.

Washington won the conference by 3 games last year, and they lost a home game. An undefeated home slate is an unreasonable expectation. They probably can't win the conference with more than 1 home loss though. Gotta be at least above .500 on the road to win the conference though, no dispute there. Really have to be a couple games above .500 (6-3 or better) on the road. 5-4 on the road and 2 or less home losses should lock in a top 4 spot Pac finish (would've been second last year).

100% this. Every team has one "WTF" game at home (hi Omar Strong!). 8-1 in conference play is reasonable to expect. The key is 5-4 on the road.

CSU @Moby always seems to be a tell on how the season is going to go.

They will be waiting for the Buffs...those goat fans would love nothing less than ruining CU's potential good season. Need another CSU beat down and all they have on us would be volleyball. :ROFLMAO:

Who do you think they will lose to at home?

I don’t expect a loss to Oregon at home, because Tad owns Dana, but it could happen More to Goose’s point though, they could have a WTF game at home against someone like Stanford, and, while it would be frustrating, it wouldn’t be a jump off the bridge thing if a game like that was 1 of 1 or 2 home losses.

Is this the same kid who used to rock out while mopping sweat in the paint? Reads that P-P made the 2nd round of the ncaa. Can you imagine if the game is on the line and it's really Boyle v Boyle?

Utah. It’s always Utah

Wright takes pride in the Roman numeral at the end of his name, though he never met McKinley Wright I or II. He almost lost McKinley Wright III, his father, to drugs and prison.

Wright III grew up in a family afflicted by drugs. He was 5 when his dad, McKinley IV’s grandfather, died of an overdose. The grandmother who raised him also died when he was young. Wright III fell into a life of drugs, becoming a crack dealer.

“His background, his story is way worse than mine,” McKinley IV says. “So I don’t complain a lot.”

During the presentencing phase in 2008, the defense provided letters from his family and friends. One, according to the Quad City Times, came in the form of a handwritten note from McKinley IV. He was 7 years old.

“I need him,” he wrote. “He can get a job, have a great career. Maybe he can play sports. He won’t do anything wrong. Will you pretty please let him out of jail? I miss him very much.”

Tad has had his ups and downs but he’s almost always punched above CU’s weight class for basketball. Can’t wait for November and for CU to flex it’s muscles, unlike our football program. Thank god Tad
