Mel Tucker leaves CU for Michigan State

How many Clemson, Georgia, Bama, etc assistants do you hear from? How many Coordinators or other assistants lead their programs out on the field? College football is 100% about the head coach and building the brand. Bigger the brand of the HC, the more high level recruits want to play there. They were taking the right approach with Tucker. Everything was done extremely well and CU was on it's way.

In years past, the players followed ralphie. GTFO with the “how many assistants lead a team?” BS.

We heard a lot more from Chev and his twitter account prior to Mel. And we heard a lot from Leavitt and other coordinators over the years.

Of course it’s within the HC’s authority to hog the spotlight if he wants to, and Mel did exactly that.

Good. The sooner this fraud is off campus the better!
Probably close to landing in East Lansing as we speak.

Does anyone remember the time when CU's football coach accepted a job at another school, only to be told that he was obligated by a contract, and that he was going to be held to it?

It was 1988. Bill McCartney was offered a ten-year deal by SMU, and Bill Marolt informed him that he was expected to honor his contract. The media reported that he had a last-minute "change of heart".

Different times, and also an illustration of why college football has lost a lot of its appeal.

Lol, yeah, we heard from Leavitt when he was here and it caused a ton of distractions and is his inability to stay in his lane is mostly why he's unemployed right now. Of all the things you should be upset with Tucker about, this stuff is very low on the list.

A digression....

My building has the most God awful muzak. It is a mix of 80, 90's music, often reduced to some crappy rendition by an unknown studio band. Occasionally, we are treated to the original artists rendition, but that is usually limited to such musical giants as Boyz II Men and Debbie Gibson. On this fine day, however, it was Stray Cats "Rock This Town", original artist version, playing as I headed to the john.

Standing before the mirror is a tall skinny dude in blue jeans, a blue jean jacket and sunglasses, combing his long greasy black hair with a black plastic pocket comb. I so much wanted ask: "when do you go on stage?", but I didn't.

As I sat listening to Brian Setzer belt out his tune, it came to me. As far as the last HC goes, we should just flush.

Wait . . . are you the guy standing before the mirror!?

Legit question.

When kNU plays MSU, for which team do you cheer?
Hopefully MSU ****s the bed and MT is gone in 2-3 years and then this isn't even an issue. I think he's a good coach, but he hasn't proven anything yet.

I don't think I'll truly know the answer to this question until they are actually playing. My heart decides who it roots for independent of what my brain tells it. But I think this game will be similar to when KC played the Patriots in the AFCCG last year. I watched, but mostly I was just rooting for both teams to not be able to field a full squad the following week.

Confirmed RG anger -- that's my AD.

1. I can confirm from my own ears that tucker spent considerable time and effort to call four radio stations and lie to everyone. So I'm not in a position to believe ANYTHING coming from tucker or about him.
2. Imagine IF he asked and the response "Oh, Mr tucker, you've been going out of your way to lie to the public about your loyalty to CU? You want to meet with the team? Oh, you want to give them papers and instructions on how to enter the transfer portal or to find their way to michigan state? No, sorry, we can't trust you to simply say goodbye. Your lies have sealed your fate."

Just a reference. I’m sure RG talked to Saban a while back as well
I get referrals, use them all the time!!!
The article says "ASSISTED" with it, meaning that Saban interfered with Colorado's contracted coach on behalf of another program that was not his. In the real world, there could be Tortuous Interference with Commerce, but I am not naive about this ****.

This has become a huge national story. Seems like everyone is taking a stab at dicing up the issues.

I hope everyone realizes that our kids LOVE COLORADO and are all going to stay and play motivated! You can throw shade at it and say to fight fire with fire, but maybe you should use some traditional values and show everyone that if you are loyal and work hard that things work out for groups of people that are willing to fight for each other!
