Sad Bye Bye GIF by Tennis TV

I still don't know why Carter wasn't splitting time with Lewis? No way they look at Lewis and go wow all this playing time really improved his game and we see the steps he's going to take next year.

In the bye week, they opened the competition. According to the coaches, Lewis was substantially better than Carter.
They didn't need Carter to start, but there were plenty of times this season where a series or two in a game would have done just as much to further his development as it would Lewis. If OU can switch between QBs when actually winning games, I find it hard to believe it would have hindered anything CU was going to do this year by giving reps between 2 freshmen.

Lewis has grown a lot even with a leaky line, crap playbook, and albatross of an OC.
Taking a series or 2 away from Lewis in some of those lopsided games was not going to hurt Lewis' growth and it wasn't going to change the direction CU was going in those games. But it would give Carter some game reps and still keep his redshirt if needed. It was just another blunder of the coaching staff in my opinion.

I'd certainly say Lewis has improved, but listening to Barnett, he'll clearly point out his flaws, still late to throw, runs to the right instead of stepping up in the pocket, not wanting to make a mistake, all should be correctable if he had some coaching.
