CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

I wouldn’t put any credence into any story claiming to know what the B12 will or won’t do. The B12 has no idea what it wants to be or what it wants to do. It also has a lot of media members who like to write absurdities and hope they stick.
You haven't read any of Wilner's nonsense over the last month.

to say it's a non-starter means that no team would even engage in discussion.

that is not the case. this coming year, Baylor vs BYU has a 10:15ET kickoff time. I'm sure if I go through last season's kickoff times, I can find past examples of other CTZ teams willing to do this.

not a "non starter"
Its not about them being willing to do it. Its more that's a BYU home game, so its gotta go on an ESPN channel.

Snapdragon is expandable to 55k capacity. No reason to do that without an invite to move up to a higher tier conference. It's not a negative in the least.
Safe to assume a P5 move would require an expansion? Not sure that makes sense though...are SD residents going to pack a larger stadium to see KState or Baylor?

The sdsu boosters and admin are galvanized and organized and unified in their desire to be a player in football and basketball. They have made a lot of smart investments. I think we could do a lot worse than adding sdsu to the pac and if ucla gets forced to stay that is added bonus stuff right there. honestly, if end up with pac 12 including ucla and sdsu, it isn’t the most horrible outcome— figure the pay day has to be higher than the 30mm ish without ucla and maybe you get close to parity with the remnant big 12 AND we don’t have to deal with the likes of bailer. Just saying…

Had a buddy tour it recently. Said it's SMALL and underwhelming. He even went so far as to say Canvas might even be better. YIKES. No thanks to SDSU.

It was designed for soccer too so perhaps that’s why it feels smaller. It’s expandable to 55K just like Canvas.

If fUCLA cannot get out, and the P12 adds SDSU, it is still a net negative, but not a terrible outcome. That version of the P12 might be viable.

Adding San Diego to the conference isn’t a net negative. I had to tell PAC-10 fans to appreciate Pullman because they haven’t been to Lubbock, Stillwater, Ames, etc.

Well, neither program is ever going to get close to consistently filling their 35k stadium, so I'm pretty sure neither stadium is going to expand in the foreseeable future. My buddy (alum) estimates they'll sell out the first 2-3 games the first year then settle in around 27-28k there on out. There's just no real passion for the program there. Hell, even he's a bigger fan of SC.

Why does it feel like a chore to find out when the Pac-12 football media days are going to be? That's one reason to head back to the Big 12.

But, but RG tells us that the remaining ten teams are unified and loyal!! There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
Yeah, and OU & UT said the same when they dropped to 10 in the B12. Schools like them,Oregon & UW are only loyal until they aren't. We're making a bad decision sticking this conference based on the loyalty of OR & UW. B12 is our best spot for the near future. Better money and better athletics.

You only feel this way because they’re wanted. Will you tell the P12 fans we’re not loyal and leave them hanging? Every man for himself.

How did you miss that being the whole point of my post? We can't sit and just take OR & UW saying they're committed. We need to go do whats best for us - which I believe is the B12 for the next 7-10 years if a GOR can be executed with a short term like that in their new media contract(s). Something tells me their new deal won't be more than 10 years - expiring right when the ACC GOR expires also. Then it's armageddon.

If CU stays in Pac it’s because they are getting more money and using UO-UW brands while they can. No one has any loyalty.

The salivating over SDSU is hilarious. No one in that city cares about SDSU. They care even less about my alma mater, but the Chargers left town and like 27 people noticed.
Not sure how that matters. They've been in the Top 25 enough for long enough that their football brand can draw an audience, their home market gives a needed bump of in-market cable homes, and the rest of the teams in the conference rely on SoCal for recruiting so a presence is needed.

It's a no-brainer for expansion if that's the path.

My big question is who to take for #12?

I think that outside of raiding the Big 12, if we look at the MWC it would be Fresno State, Boise State and UNLV in some order.

P.S. The move might be to take all 4 on a reduced share deal.

Someone from Texas or stick to 11.
