CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

You can call the Big 12 Buc-ee's if you like, but the rest of the country will be calling the PAC irrelevant (assuming the PAC even exists a month or so from now).
Wait, the P12 is dead? Next you are going to tell we landed on the moon.

The P12 died when the league lost LA.

The B12 became the Truck Stop conference when UT and OU finally left. Now it is a motley collection of AG and commuter schools. I remember when the B12 meant something, Mizzou, aTm, UT, OU all now in the SEC, NU to the B1G, CU to the Pac, you were all riding BEVO and the land thieves coattails. That is why you are coming after the P12 leftovers to regain credibility. We may come, and if we do, you are welcome. Act accordingly.

We need a real rivalry again. The nebraska game was circled on the calendar every year to look forward to.

I can’t feel any real rivalry with Utah as our rival. Does anyone else?

Question for everyone….Looking at conference expansion and where we end up …… in the big 12 or pac, who would you like to be our rival going forward?
This is squarely CU's fault. If they didn't engineer two decades of suck, Utah would probably be a rival.

fact is, we don't know. the narrative is being driven by a bunch of ****-head pundits who are actively working to break up the pac. some due to self interest and a whole bunch others due to the usual bias against the west coast.

you don't know whether or not he will succeed yet. neither do i. the public picture appears to be grim but one never knows until one knows.

hey, right now, i am going to hope the pac sticks together and lands a tv contract worthy of the quality of the schools left compared to the truck stop conference.

and then i hope the pac sues ESPN, usc, ucla, the big 12, and several drooling talking heads for tortious interference.
They won't sue anyone. Let's simplify this a little bit-I'm looking for two things here. One, Wilner believes the Pac 12 is going to have a TV deal within 10% of the Big 12's per school figure. That could be as low as $28M-ish or as high as $34M. If we're in that range and we have similar exposure at least on ESPN for now, I think we stay. You can take that revenue figure down to $25M and I'm probably comfortable staying.

Any lower than that, and we need to go. I'm assuming they want the four of us as full members, so we better at a minimum go to the B1G and SEC and say we'll take $31M as our revenue if you take us and see what they do.

We built our NU rivalry through playing meaningful games. Once we start competing, we can start developing rivalries.

It's ancient history, but Utah was our rival when games with them decided the RMAC. If our games decide Big 12/Pac 12 championships it'll be a rivalry.
This. Its hard to make it a rivalry when we sucked and so did most of the teams we played. Very few of our Pac12 seasons had any meaningful games where the win elevated one or loss cost the other. Even if it did we didnt get to do it YoY. McCartney played every team in the conference every season. That meant you got to do it to them again and again. These big conferences will not allow for that.

I doubt Nebraska would walk away from the big 10 money but they’re not really competitive in the big 10. And they might find the big 12 and easier conference for them to compete in. Would be crazy to walk away from the money but maybe they’d go to the big 12?

Or….. as bad it would be, does it make sense to bring CSU along so we have a travel partner? I cringe at the idea of making them relevant at all but we need a rival!!!

CSU to the big12 is the opposite of my suggestion that CSU drop football

If we went back to the Big 12, we're likely paired with Oklahoma State as a rival. We've got a hell of a lot more history with them than we did with Utah when we joined the Pac 12, and Mike Gundy's a douche.

Both CU and CSU to the Big 12 makes sense. They are years long natural rivals. The two will bring the Colorado viewer market to the Big 12 tv deal.

Right?

LOL!
Yep, just like Trev Alberts had to eliminate the University of Nebraska-Omaha football program to unite Corn Nation and get more walk-ons so they could win 4 games.

Or, how I wish that Nevada and UNLV would merge

CSU has zero value to CU in terms of attention, potential walk-ons, donors, boosters, etc...

Colorado needs only 1 P5 and 1 Academy team

UNC and CSU might struggle to have Football teams in 10 years from now, especially at D1

It's a rivalry. CU's hatred of CSU is obvious.
Super clever observation with world class word play! Your surveillance skills are top notch tonight. Now go scurry back to whatever board you frequent, and tell them about how you really got those Buffs today!

You folks are amazing.

You insist on directing your anger at the Big 12 when it's the Big 10 who destroyed your conference. The Big 12 has never poached a PAC team (although we can't say the opposite is true).

The PAC decides there's no big hurry to negotiate their next media package, but they get all upset that the Big 12 had the nerve to go ahead and negotiate their own package. How dare they not patiently wait for the PAC.

You puff out your chest when talking about academic standards, and you amuse yourselves by looking down at the truck stop schools. Yet the truck stop conference is doing just fine while yours is circling the drain.

Eh, I don’t know what Liver is talking about but the “Big 12 is doing just fine” talk is all relative. They may have jumped the line and put the Pac in a tough spot, but they’re just racing to a red light. Each of the P5 conferences not named SEC and B1G are all just JV within 5 years. CU fans are hoping that Denver’s market size and the ratings while Prime in here, will earn us an invite to the Varsity league.

I harbor no ill will toward the Big 12, and it’s probably the best option for CU in the short term, but I just don’t want them to be stuck there if/when the B1G comes calling, like every current B12 program

For the buffs, the big 12 is an ex-girlfriend that has gained fifty pounds, lost four front teeth and a nasty industrial accident took her sex drive. Hard pass, you'd be lucky to have us.

this thing that is now the big 12 is not even a shell of what it was. i'd be happy to go back to the original 8 or if forced to the original 12. but this version of the b12 is weak, dumb, and without tradition. if we fall that far, i will enjoy watching CU beat the hell out of whichever dog **** commuter or bible school produced you.

we aren't dead quite yet. and you folks will take us back any time we choose to allow it. now go sit down and wait until we decide you are useful to us.
