22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

Anyone who thinks this is concerning hasn't been paying attention the last 5 months, which completely tracks with Shap now that he's at The Fan

youd rather him keep these scrubs and slow the turnaround down?

something just seems off about the scale and speed of it, like a private equity firm coming in to fire everyone without a second thought. feeling a perceived lack of sensitivity around the fact that these are young dudes at a pivotal time in their lives, not robots in football pads

kids were offered and committed here, and now some very capable players (at least depth pieces for the second unit) are being pushed out to go to schools that won't set them up for success in life as much as CU. meanwhile RG pats himself on the back for his luck with Prime and his last hire that was an utter failure has millions of dollars in the bank to buy his grape nuts with

CP knows how to get the most out of the new-school of CFB. I'll just accept my waning CFB fandom and head back to the bball forum

This dude in Howell's live chat. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Hey Brian. I'm maybe less than optimistic as something seems to be going on with the team, new coaching style etc...simply too many portal moves I think...and it seems like CP wasn't too pleased with several of them. How is it possible to replace and upgrade that many spots? D Line looks incredibly thin. And while CP is the ultimate showman, seems like he's favoring some over others? A grey outfit for Hunter, really?? Curious about your take.

I'll acknowledge that despite the fun of CP and what will undoubtedly be a better on-field product, I'm not gonna be a CFB fan for much longer
It’s this or getting destroyed in September-Nov.

Sanders has been very transparent from day 1. He was going to try and get you to quit. Well, they're quitting. They might not all like it, but this is the reality of what the players asked for with the NIL and transfer changes.

Sanders also believes this brutal honesty is what will help these kids up to find a place that does fit better for them and their skills.

Why? They were already over the scholarship limit before the transfer portal opened with the summer transfers and Coach Prime has repeatedly sent out messages to other states requesting dogs—I think he said he wanted 10 more guys from Florida.

Just the math indicated this was coming. And maybe it’s just me but I personally find it hard to be concerned about anyone from a one win team leaving. Air Force whipped these guys asses last year, for crying out loud.

The only really major surprise for me was the decommit of the DB from Louisiana (especially since he came to the spring game). But as long as Coach Prime is here, I don’t think we need to worry about recruiting the secondary. Good players will want to play for the GOAT.
Why what? Who said anything about being concerned? But it does have to be a strange day - some of these guys have to leave school, move, leave friends, etc. It’s not easy even if it was to be expected.

Feel free to **** all the way off.

(at least depth pieces for the scout team)

Why in the blue hell are we worried about who runs scout team?

The players that have left today would be minimal, very minimal contributors next season.

All replaceable. Why is everyone up in arms. Half of the names posted most don't know. And wouldn't know. I only knew from finding all on Twitter.

Prime at practice every day this week

MLC would have contributed IMO. Tyson too, if and only if he got healthy again. Possible Deoin SMith could have contributed too. The rest, probably were not going to see the field although Bowser was intriguing.

If and only if, and possibly.

A coach won't survive on those two.

I'll give you MLC, and that was the minimal part in it all. Sometimes you have to be a realist.
