Ladies and gentlemen, the Prime effect

Question: is what we are seeing now exactly what Coach Mac wanted for the future of the CU program, but was unable to adequately express?
He definitely dreamed of CU being the program that led the way in giving black coaches more opportunities and wanted to see a more diverse & inclusive community in Colorado & particularly Boulder County.

I agree. I just think he didn't have the vocabulary to explain what he wanted to bring about, *and* his audience didn't necessarily want to hear what he had to say on that matter either.

I know I am an outlier here, but a CU athlete just won the 3rd greatest endurance race in the world. Can we get a Sepp Kuss, Vuelta a Espana champion, an appearance at a game this year? A little chat about his 18 thousand miles ridden in training and racing this year and what it takes to be a true champion?

Y’all - as long as the Big 12 has a seat at the CFP table, that’s where we want to be with Prime. We’ll have the best teams in the conference and will have the easiest path to glory. I’m talking regular CFP appearances and shots to win it all here. No need to get mixed up in a bloodbath conference unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Excited Lets Go GIF

Once (if) we run train on the Bug XII and are regulars in the CFP, and thus start pulling recruits / transfers where we actually have depth and can routinely dominate, THEN we jump ship into one of those conferences.

I mean, we can all agree that Prime at CU story has exceeded even the most lofty of expectations so far. But its gone even further. It has transcended beyond college football into mainstream pop culture.

But … is it possible that this story could manifest into cultural zeitgeist moment for race relations in America? Like the LA Raiders, or Fab Five. How much of this phenomenon transcends the ‘football turnaround story’ and captures the fascination of a unabashed, ostentatious successful African American man smashing norms and re-writing rules in a lilly white place like Boulder, Colorado?

That is the story. And we're living it.

As I'm starting to see the "Go Ducks!" stuff, it almost feels sad to me, weirdly, because this thing feels way bigger than a game. My love (and hate) of college football has somehow transcended college football.
