Never should’ve been called. Never. You run the half out in that situation. EOS. 99/100 coaches will tell you the same.
We didn't do that at Jackson. Then again, we had more versatility in personnel at Jackson. Something that's currently missing at CU bit that will change. They just need the players.
You don’t understand simple risk/return and basic math in that situation. You’re just demonstrating you’re not very bright which is hardly surprising.
Agreed, if your line is dynamic enough to block a 4 man rush, or even a +1, then the defense has to adjust
Right now, people are rushing 4, 5, or 6 guys easily and we are not making any adjustments on max protection or just adding extra blockers
But, Prime has specifically said that he would rather have more receivers for SS than add blockers. Is he overconfident, stubborn, or just feels in his HOF bones that it will just work out somehow?
Watching Harrison try to chip the DE in the second quarter was abysmal. If a TE cant chip, do you really expect a RB to, let alone a guy Edwards size.
That said, Edwards has faced up quite a few rushers this year, so by no means do I want to discredit his teamwork.
As I see it the OL is talent poor, issues don’t go deeper than that. Regardless of scheme or play calling every pass play with this line will be a hurry, sack or throw away. Stat sheet dose not change based on who is calling plays.
Running more won’t help because at the best 2yds 3 times still won’t get a first down.
Until line talent upgrades, schemes are irrelevant.

Nothing was ever implemented to scheme to our weaknesses with Lewis. There really was/is no short/quick passing game. Everything takes forever to develop. The only quick hitters we saw were scripted at the beginning of each half. Other than the scripted plays there were really no changes because you can't make them in 5 days

Should've been BoB. We have used TE 3 or 4 times this season, if my eyes aren't mistaking me, I don't think we have used OL yet this season... At least not for blocking

LOL. What you don’t understand is that the risks to running the running the ball with our current OL personnel in an obvious run situation are far greater than a quick throw to a wide open receiver. Your thought process is skewed by the outcome,
not by the “risk”. The throw broke tendency and revealed a superior matchup for advancing the ball. Running an RB into a run fit does not hold many (if any) improved outcomes for field position.

I thought the TV guy said we had like 20 yards total O at the time.
We're on the 4 yard line, with 49 seconds left.
2 choices: Run the clock out and be happy it's 7 - 4, or march 70+ yards for a score.
Clearly, you run out the clock and regroup at half - not in too bad a place.
CP's explanation, which makes zero sense to me was:

I love CU; 10 years as a full-time student, 2 degrees, 30 years in Boulder, many years of season tickets in FB and BB.
I think CP is the best thing to happen at CU, maybe ever.
But as I've been noting and being called names for, CP is at best an average game day coach.
His explanation makes no sense.
He is the captain of the ship.
He is responsible and, at least after that 1st pass attempt, had to know to run out the clock.
I'm proud of how the men fought back and kept their heads high.
This loss is on the coaches.

When you only have 5 guys blocking against 6 guys coming of course your OL is going to look terrible. In this scheme the QB holds the ball to long, hence all the sacks and pressure he is seeing. The offensive scheme needs to be changed and a TE or RB needs to be in there to chip and/or block where needed. If you are going to run 5 WRs out on routes then the QB must get rid of the ball very quickly like he started doing at the end of the game during garbage time when OSU was playing a soft zone and leaving everything underneath open.
I am not in that room to ever answer that question. Like others here, I simply don't know. I do know when he we have max protect, it was bad. I know we have a fundamental issue of blocking but why aren't we helping the OL with chipping or trying to as we did earlier this year even unsuccessfully is the question.
We definitely have a short passing game, all of those behind the line of scrimmage plays for example. What we are missing is bail put options in particular when he go empty or even at times when we leave the RB in to block. Our play designs work when you got a Jayden Daniels. One read and run but someone like 2, i think we need go adjust the playbook.

And BOB remains on staff? Sorry, but that is stupid. Brewster actually produced TE play from nothing. BOB has taken nothing and somehow gotten less. But he keeps his job?
SS2 has quantitatively one of the lowest times to throw in the pocket among all D1 QBs - yes he's held the ball too long but this is largely a baseless narrative.
