running the ball today helped keep SS2 cleaner. the DL played. The OL fought over their talent. the refs sucked and didnt call the game consistently.

if we roll in 2 new guards and tackles (portal and/or david conner and tyler brown), add more consistent offensive play calling (either sean lewis getting used to P5 athleticism or someone new), add a plus athlete safety, add a couple of true inside LBs, and add a freak athlete pass rusher i think we are a 8-9 win team next year. without even looking at the portal, i think our recruiting is right there (OL will have to be Seaton and portal).

i feel good about the trajectory if CP and staff keep pushing. again, this was a loss that we shouldnt have lost, but we're on the right track

I feel like we can be a legit playoff team. We got the best QB in the nation. The best player in the nation with Hunter. We got good players like Cokes, Horn, Shilo, potentially McNiell, etc. We just don't got many decent players. I would to see our very talented guys like Omarion Miller and McClain be decent or better. We need a lot more decent players. We lack too many. Fix that, this team could beat anyone. We got enough high end guys. Just not enough good or decent guys.
 
Needed to take a few minutes, and this **** continues to suck, but my goodness Minnesota lost to Purdue today and Wisconsin lost to Northwestern. At least we're losing to good-ish teams outside of the Stanford debacle. And 7 games played have been within 8 points, so "we're close" 🤢. Next year gents, hopefully...maybe? 😅

I couldn't find the halftime stats... There was one long pass to Hunter in the 2nd half. Minus that reception, I think Shurmurs offense had less than 40 yards in the second half. If the special teams didn't provide excellent field position most of the game, the incompetence of Shurmur would be very clear.

Agree. Pass protection was much better. We still can't run. But there were a few plays, where early in the play I'm thinking it's easily 8 yards or more - and then we get 4. In other words, I don't think our RBs are getting as many yards as they should.

We couldn't stop the run once Cowing left. We are fooling ourselves thinking we had a win. We just screwed ourselves in any chance of heroics but this team just lacks too much. We adjusted the OL and brought in the kids with more talent but those guys have low Football awareness.

We just need to be honest about this team. They lack too many decent players. We got enough really good players. We got a few good players but when it comes to decent players, we lack a ton. Almost all of these teams outside of Stanford which 100% is a coaching lost just has a lot more decent players than we do.

We got a lot from the portal but most of it wasn't good. We hit on some surprises like McNiell. I am happy about that but overall, we replaced someone trash and all they became was our trash

They win this game with competent coaching and SS2 not spending 15 seconds bitching at the ref which cost the team a TO.

Win Stanford too and maybe OSU.
