i think that the comments that the team shouldn't wear the 90 uniforms are a bit unfair.
one should remember that the program is bigger than one coach or even one set of players. the 90 year was very big for the program and for all of us fans. it is the 20th year anniversary and it is a good thing to commemorate it. hell, it might even help to remind recruits that we were at the very top of the pyramid at one point. it may give folks a glimpse of what is possible.
also, if you want to assess blame for the current state of the program, then aim at the staff (and at the administration for allowing this to continue). the staff is highly paid to recruit players that fit its system and then to coach those players up. if the program is not succeeding, it is because the staff has failed to obtain, nourish, and properly use the personnel as necessary to reach the goal.
i'll look forward to seeing the players in the throwbacks. those were the best damned looking uniforms CU has ever worn and probably ever will wear. they represent the best of CU football and they are a symbol of what we aspire to be again. the players, i would think, will be honored to wear them and i am sure they'll do all they can do to represent the program the best that they can.
