I'd be really surprised he seemed to be doing a good job when i take my Buff glasses off.
I think he is doing a good job making them competitive - but the reason he was hired was to get the stadium built, and I'm not sure he is managing the AD well financially.
Ramnation message board seems to confirm.
They've confirmed nothing.... they are just as likely to be toying with the guy who posted 'bad news coming out for CSU this afternoon'
Hearing it's true. Although nothing confirmed.
Wouldn't be 100% shocked. He's done some good things for that school, he's also blown a lot of hot air and spent a lot of money the AD doesn't have. Things don't look good for meeting the October stadium deadline, if that fell through somehow, I could see him out on his ass in a heartbeat.
Firing or stepdown is the rumor you hear C2CC?
It must be stadium fundraising IMO - that's what happened to Bohn.
Unless there is gross financial or other miss-management a foot I can't figure this one out. He had vision, a plan, made a good hire in football, a great hire in basketball.
He's basically the Anti-Bohn. Made good hires in the revenue sports, programs growing, had a vision, etc.
Oh, man. What a mess. If true, I'm sure sparkles and Eustacy are updating their resumes as we speak. This isn't going to end well for the goats.
Meh, who cares.
What's there to figure out? This is CSU we're talking here. I think their AD way over promised.
He did as good a job as possible doing what he was hired to do, to try to get a stadium built and propel them into the big time.
Unfortunately he may have been hired for a job that couldn't be done and now he is taking the fall for it.
I wonder how much his stadium fundraising stepped on other toes while still not being successful.
CSU has always prided itself in getting along with the community, this effort has generated some vocal opponents, again without tangible results.
May not be fair but I can see the politics behind it.
smells of misconduct, malfeasance, gross negligence, etc.
if the sheep are lucky, he was merely banging a student or a goat or something and this is not financial or academic related.
And is badly badly missing the stadium fundraising goal, while spending huge amounts of cash that CSU doesn't have (which is why he was able to make good hires and grow).
If I remember back to when he was hired a few years ago, I vaguely remember that it was stated he was there to get the stadium built.... he hasn't done well with that.
My guess is financial mismangement and the failures with the stadium.... if this is actually happening at all.
CSU trying to be big time.
I agree with slider
There's a difference?
well, there used to be. now, i couldn't say for sure.
The goat had a higher SAT score?
Maybe they'll hire Mike Bohn. I know he just got hired on at Cincinatti, but I seem to recall that he came to CU after being at SDSU for about a year.
or Bill Mac or Gary Barnett.
board.meltdown. NUKE-U-LAR style!
Unless he just wants to move back to Colorado, I don't know why? Clearly a much worse job. I saw name loosely mentioned with Air Force (also has a connection there).
If it is true it will be funny to see how the core sheep fans try to spin this as a positive step towards being invited to join a major conference.
"New AD ****** ******* used to be the 3rd assistant AD at XXX school in the XXX conference. His connections are what we were missing and since he and ###### ###### are close buddies the invite should be coming by January (year not specified.)"
And there it is....
