I didn't listen to the post game on the radio but did hear some of Jon's heated comments. Then I listened to Mac's show yesterday and a caller asked him about Embree's calling out the players. Mac was pretty disappointed that Jon did so and felt like Jon would learn from it and not make the same mistake in the future.
Later, I tuned into CJ and Joel and caught the middle of a caller named "Dave" who was an older guy. He apparently is a former player and is still close to the program and knows a lot of the players. Dave was very angry at both Jon and Joel for blaming the players. He made some very good points and actually got Joel to backtrack, which is pretty impressive.
So, all that being said, I heard Embree say, on the radio this morning, that he blew it. He said that he was very emotional after such a tough loss and said things he shouldn't have. He said that future press conferences will be "boring." I'm kind of guessing that Mac and, probably, others took Jon to the side and had a talk with him.
I think the main point here is that this staff is in the early stages of the learning curve. Its going to take them a bit of time.
Oh, and "Dave" and Joel mentioned something about fist fights in the locker room among some of the players. Does anyone have any idea what they were talking about? Did that happen this year or in the past?
