Don't care how many games he wins. I want him gone. I he wins a NC, I'll be the happiest man on earth, but will still want a different coach.
I agree with you. If he is to stay oafter seven wins, there will have to be a marked improvement in recruiting, for one thing. Also, they had better be competitive in the losses. Otherwise, I think he needs eight wins.8 - 4 is good enough to give him another year. 9 - 3, keep him for sure. 7 - 6, uh i dunno he better have beaten csu and nu and better win his bowl game if he plans to stick around.

I can't believe how many of you are ready to jump back on the Hawk train. I guess it has been 6 months or so since the end of last season's disaster and it isn't fresh in your minds... Pretty sad!

The recruiting class should not be a priority for Dan at this point. He needs to win with the talent he has now.9 regular season wins. And no more of this "we're banking on an incredible January to save our recruiting class" nonsense. There better be a nice collection of talent committed at the end of the season.
In your post right before this one you said that we have seen who he is and what his football mind is capable of.
Do you think a Hawkins-coached team is capable of winning 10 games? Capable of winning a conference title?
If not, that says to me that there is something he could achieve this season that would prove you wrong. That would necessarily mean you'd need to re-evaluate your opinion of him, right?
That's all people are saying: that there is a certain level of success that would make us say we didn't know what we thought we knew... and that a lot of the stuff Hawk has said that we've written off as lame excuses or utter B.S. all of a sudden would look like it had some validity.
And for the record, Hawk's won 10+ games in a season 4 times in his 14 years as a head coach. He's won his conference title in 7 out of 14 years as a head coach.

I wish you hadn't grouped the poll like you did. 7-5 isn't enough for me, but 8-4 is. At least that's what I think right now. Is there a chance I'd be ok with Hawk if he went 2-2 in the non-conference (with a convincing win over CSU) and then went 5-3 in the Big 12 (with a convincing season-ending win at Nebraska)? Probably a good chance I'd change my tune, actually. But right now I want at least 8-4.
