Mel Tucker leaves CU for Michigan State

I doubt we were. This is just RG protecting his position a bit . . . and knifing MT a bit.
 
Meh. Good luck, Mel. it's clear he understands the game. He played by CU's rules. Disappointing, but this is on CU. Bad contracts, poor commitment. The administration is not willing to play at that level. don't hate the player...

No. This is just wrong. It is easy to blame CU for everything, but this is not on CU outside of not having the media deal of the Big10.

You also have to look at the resume on Tucker, he doesn't stay put, 15 jobs in 23 years:

BOULDER--University of Colorado head football coach Mel Tucker has informed CU Athletic Director Rick George that he is resigning his position, effective immediately. George issued this statement Wednesday morning:

"We are disappointed to see Coach Tucker leave," George said. "We are excited about the upward trajectory of our football program and we'll get to work immediately hiring the next head coach to build on our momentum and lead our young men. We're confident this program is on the verge of competing at the highest level and has the resources and support in place to do so for a long time."

Wonder if tucker will bother saying good-bye to the players?

This is just the beginning, folks.

Leach, long gone. Tucker, gone behind him. Maybe the finances played some kind of role, too, in USC feeling as if it had to keep Clay Helton for one more season and maybe the lack of a level financial playing field contributed in some way to Washington coach Chris Petersen throwing in the towel.

The Pac-12 makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

On the other hand look at the contract with the HUGE buyout for HCMM or the extension for HCDH? How did those work out for us?

Buyouts work both ways, it would have been nice to have a larger one after year one but this contract set us up so that if Tucker was a failure we could move on without much pain after at year 3.
 
I had a bad feeling last night when I read somewhere that MSU was going to make another push at Tucker. I should follow my gut more in life, it seems to be spot on.

Tucker, what a lying sack of dix.

I hope we hire Bienemy. Idk if Chev is ready, but I see CU falling back on that option in this situation.

Out buyout of Tucker if we fired him would have been like $8 million. So it doesn't work both ways.
