Given that, it'd be highly logical to assume CU would quickly issue a denial for damage control. The absence of one would be very telling... But as others as pointed out, given CU's historical PR acumen (or lack there of), maybe this isn't such a good theory.

You really are not familiar with CU and the way they run public relations are you
 
If tempted, he'd be foolish to interview until after the leading candidate has been dealt with. If he interviews and doesn't get it, he has kind of ****e in his nest

Exactly. He slow played it perfectly. MSU sent message to Sexton that Fickell interview we well, that there is mutual interest and that deal parameters are not unreasonable.
