Lammies can Fairchild (was: To add insult to CSU's injury...)

Ramnation running crazy rumors all over the place. The Sryker thing is the only concern I have as an opposing fan. An infusion in cash could bring their performance back up for awhile again. Without it, I don't see how they do much of anything in hiring a legit AD or HC

In the future, probably best to wait on other sources besides SportsByBrooks.

It would be sad to see him on the CSU sideline, but he would be a great hire for them.

I think he'd take it so he could have the chance of spiking the ball in CU's face at some point. And I cant say that Id entirely blame him for that either.

The love affair for Barney in this thread is comical. Very comical.

Kowalcyzk seemed like a decent AD. If Stryker makes a big donation... then I might be worried. Otherwise CSU is more broke than me

Umm cash doesn't mean jack **** on the field of play. Just ask Texas.

CSU is not as broke as you think it is. The University just raised nearly $500 Million in 4 years for on-campus improvments. There is no reason it can't make another large fundraising push for its athletic department.

This is very untrue, Gary could not work another day in his life and be just fine....I'll leave it at that.

You took my post the wrong way. I suspect GB has some investment income (if he is smarter with his money than he is with his mouth). My point is $1m a year is a pretty sweet (and hard to turn down) offer for a guy that hasn't worked in a few years. And it isn't like GB was pulling in Saban dollars at CU.

Was thinking the same thing. When I think back to Barnett, I get pissed at how he was portrayed during the "scandel", but then I remember 70-3 and my sympathy diminishes instantly.

Paved that dirt parking lot yet?

Interesting thought, pure speculation. What would happen if instead of HC they hired GB as the new AD? Stranger things have happened.

Well, if there's one thing that GB is great at it is navigating the seas of politics and media. CSU would be wise to make him AD.

The "scandel" is what hurt him. After that he didn't put as much effort into recruiting. Barnett got a lot out of a little. We would have been a bowl team at least 3 of the last 5 years if he were still here.

Its your tax dollars that support the University system as a whole, including CSU. I still don't understand this notion of somehow reveling in the idea of a state funded University struggling with finances.

A bowl team in at least 3 out of the last 5 years????? Holy crap, that is the mark of a great coach!

It would go a long way to improving the perception of football in the state of Colorado if they could make a nice hire. I'm hoping the school, students and alumni are really able to step up here.
